After Zhang Zuolin died, his coffin was placed in the temple for 9 years before being buried? We still need to discuss it with the Japanese

As the leader of the Beiyang Army Faction, Zhang Zuolin is known as the "Northeast King", and he is very glamorous. However, after Zhang Zuolin's death, his coffin was placed in the temple for nine years before being buried. Even if there were no Japanese participation, the burial would have been delayed further. What is the reason for this?

Although Zhang Zuolin was a warlord, he had a patriotic heart. He participated in the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1894 and helped the Qing Dynasty wipe out bandits such as Du Lisan. And Zhang Zuolin also stepped up to the position of leader of the Beiyang Army Faction, and even later formed an alliance with Sun Yat-sen and Duan Qirui. Although Zhang Zuolin held a high and powerful position, the situation in Northeast China at that time was very chaotic, and there was also the Japanese Kwantung Army. The Japanese tried to win over Zhang Zuolin many times, but Zhang Zuolin refused. In the Huanggutun Incident in 1928, Zhang Zuolin was attacked by explosives planted by the Japanese on his way back to Shenyang. Zhang Zuolin was seriously injured when he returned. Shenyang died after resuscitation failed.

After Zhang Zuolin died, his coffin was not buried immediately. Instead, it was delayed for nine years. What happened? In fact, this matter started during Zhang Zuolin's lifetime. At that time, Zhang Zuolin wanted to move his mother's grave to another feng shui treasured place, so he ordered his brother-in-law Wu Yong'en to choose the cemetery. Later, he settled on Yimafang in Linghai City. It can be said that this place is the ancestral grave designated by Zhang Zuolin. After doing this, Zhang Zuolin began to think about his own tomb. After all, he was a marshal, so he wanted to build a magnificent mausoleum, so he ordered people to build the marshal's mausoleum. In order to make his mausoleum more magnificent, Zhang Zuolin even He used the cemetery of Nurhaci's seventh son and obtained some precious things from the royal cemetery to decorate his own cemetery.

Unexpectedly, the Japanese had sinister intentions. Zhang Zuolin was killed by the Japanese before the Marshal's Mausoleum was completed. Therefore, Zhang Zuolin's coffin could only be placed in Guanzhulin Temple in Shenyang. At that time, the political situation was chaotic and the construction of the Marshal's Mausoleum was suspended. This delay lasted nine years. When Japan invaded China in the September 18th Incident in 1931, the Marshal's Mausoleum had not yet been built. Even because of the Japanese full-scale invasion, the Marshal's Mausoleum project was directly canceled. The burial of Zhang Zuolin continued to be delayed.

Until 1937, Zhang Xueliang asked Wu Yongen's son Wu Tingkui to bury Zhang Zuolin's coffin and Zhang Zuolin's mother together. Wu Tingkui discussed this matter with the Japanese army many times and only after obtaining the consent of the Japanese army could he bury Zhang Zuolin's coffin together with Zhang Zuolin's mother. A grand burial ceremony was held, and Zhang Zuolin's coffin was sent from Shenyang to Linghai City, where he was finally buried with his wife and mother.
