My golden toad has laid eggs, hurry! ! How to hatch! !
Indoor culture is carried out in large and medium-sized Borui aquariums or round glass tanks. Put it into well water or tap water aerated for more than one night, the water depth is 20cm, and the water temperature is 12 ~ 25℃. Some pebbles and big stones were put into the water to build a cave. There are three 20W fluorescent lamps at the top of the water tank for lighting. Oxygen is added to the water by submersible pump and heated by heater. The experiment started in May, and fertilized eggs were heated in mid-June165438+1October. It is of practical significance to the northern combat.
2 feeding
Adult Xenopus laevis is fed earthworm or pork liver slices 2 13 times a week, and generally does not need vitamins. Xenopus laevis can take the initiative to find food and send it to its mouth with its forelimbs. Afraid of being disturbed, African Xenopus usually feeds at night. It is very gluttonous, its food intake is directly proportional to its monthly weight gain, and its daily weight gain curve changes with the increase or decrease of food intake. The water in the sink should be changed regularly, usually after each feeding, to ensure the health of Xenopus laevis and prevent the occurrence of diseases. Under artificial conditions, as long as it is properly managed, the mortality rate is low, only about 2% per year, and the larval survival rate is about 75%.

There are obvious differences between males and females in sexually mature Xenopus laevis. Before spawning, the female cloacal lip is obviously prominent and turns red, while the male forearm has a thick black striped "wedding pad". When Xenopus laevis is sexually mature, keep it for about 4-6 hours, and then it can lay fewer eggs for many times at a suitable temperature (20-25℃). Generally 1 female Xenopus laevis lays about 1600 eggs, and the yield of 1 is 100-300 eggs. The egg is milky white with a thick egg film outside. Eggs often stick to the wall, bottom and aquatic plants. At this time, all adult Xenopus laevis should be fished out to prevent eggs or embryos from being broken or eaten, which will affect the survival rate. It takes about a week for a fertilized egg to develop into a tadpole, and it begins to absorb the egg membrane in about 4 days, and the tadpole has started swimming in 7 days. Tadpoles are transparent and have a big head. From the back of the head, you can see the composition of the brain and the direction of some cranial nerves. The ventral view of the head is nearly pentagonal, with two mouths at the mouth, a long and sharp tail, and oblique water outlets on both sides of the ventral surface. Tadpoles are filter-feeding animals and can be fed with larval bait and other suspended substances. The turbidity should be that tadpoles can eat completely within 4-5 hours. Tadpoles sometimes eat rotifers in water and scrape green algae. Under the condition of 20℃, it can be completed after 5-6 weeks from the fertilized egg: metamorphosis. During metamorphosis, tadpoles eat less or stop eating. After metamorphosis, Xenopus laevis can eat earthworms or small pieces of pig liver. Under indoor culture conditions, sexual maturity can be achieved within 1-2 years.
