On January 10, 2022, the Mianning to Miyi section of the Chengdu-Kunming Railway capacity expansion project was opened for operation. As of October 2022, only the section from Emei to Mianning is still under construction, and it is planned to be fully opened to traffic in 2022. By then, the double-track Chengdu-Kunming Railway will be separated from the old Chengdu-Kunming Railway passenger and freight lines, which can greatly enhance the passenger and freight transportation capacity of the southwest region's railways.

Characteristics of the Chengdu-Kunming double-track project

The station building project of the Emian Section of the Chengdu-Kunming Railway Capacity Expansion and Renovation Project mainly includes 6 passenger stations including Shawan South, Emian South, Jinkou Henan, Ganluonan, Yuexi, Xidexi and Yan After the completion of the main structures of the five over-traffic stations including Gang, Fandianzi, Teke, Floodplain and Anluo and related production and living buildings, they will enter the sprint stage of beam erection and track laying.
