In urgent need of an explanation of water tourist attractions!
What we are about to reach is the Bali Gorge of the Yellow River, formerly known as Bali Hutong, known as the first gorge of the Yellow River. The canyon is eight miles long, so it is called Bali Hutong and Bali Gorge. This is the last canyon at the junction of the middle and lower reaches of the 5,464-kilometer-long Yellow River in my country. There are towering mountains in the north and south of the canyon, steep cliffs, gentle and steady waves, and the surging Yellow River flowing thousands of miles away. It is very spectacular and was known as the Eight Miles and Eight Views in ancient times. Legend has it that King Yu opened it here to control the water. Not far from its east exit is the place where Yu's father Jing was killed by Shun after nine years of water control without success. His father's unwavering ambition to control the Huang Dynasty turned him into Tudan Zhuyu Island to help his son Yu control the Huang Gongjing (according to "The Classic of Mountains and Seas").
The Gushan Gorge Scenic Area we are now in is located in the middle of Bali Gorge, just to our right. Its southern end starts from Qinghekou and Fuziya on the Yellow River; it reaches Fengshi Hunan in the north and ends at Wanhe Pavilion. It was formed when the Xiaolangdi Dam impounded water at the highest water level of 230-275 meters. There are protruding peaks, winding gorges, beautiful mountains and rivers, and good geomantic omen. There are "Rhinoceros Watching the Moon", "Jiaozanping" and "Mengliangzhai". On the Bajiao Mountain on the bank, there are the Immortal Cave and the Da Maiden Cave. The stalactites in the cave are amazing. There is also the Yellow River Giant Buddha in the shape of a bee ridge, which is 80 meters high and is purely natural. The formation is comparable to the Leshan Giant Buddha in Sichuan.
However, this is just a beautiful beginning. When you arrive at Shizu Mountain, you will see: it is surrounded by mountains on one side and water on three sides, forming the largest Wanshan Lake Scenic Area. The Phuhu peninsulas and the largest island in the lake are the golden zone in the upper reaches of the Yellow River. Standing on the top of the Ancestral Mountain shrouded in white clouds, you can see the vast mist and the spectacular scenery, as if you are walking into the "downstream". Under the sky, Dongting Lake is a vast expanse of blue, and "the morning glow and setting sun are full of wonderful scenes."
