How to deal with cracks in plastering layer
Thickness of plastering layer
Indoor plastering shall be carried out twice (except for the waterproof reserved wall in the bathroom). The first plastering thickness is about 7mm, and the second plastering thickness is about10 mm. The second plastering shall be carried out after the previous layer of ash condenses. If the thickness exceeds 35mm, it should be strengthened, and if it is less than 5mm, the base surface should be chiseled. Other indoor plastering quality should be implemented according to the specifications and indoor plastering survival standards.
Causes of cracks in plastering layer
There are many reasons, such as the wall is too thin, the wall is painted with cement before it is dry, the original building structure is faulty, and the top floor house is too stuffy. It is best to find out the reason with the decoration company or construction personnel.
Of course, if there are too many cracks to be repaired, there are better remedies. You can go to the market to buy linen for painting, stick the linen on the wall with white glue, and then brush it with cement paint after drying. In this case, it is generally possible to ensure that there are no more cracks in the wall and play a role in strengthening the wall.
Most of the cracks in the wall are caused by cracks in the cement of the wall, or cracks in the joint of the "insulation board" of the wall, or cracks in the joint between the old and new walls, or cracks in the joint between the trunking and the original wall after the plumber slotted. Most of them are not the quality problems of decoration, but the insurmountable defects in architecture.
How to repair cracks in plastering layer
1. If cracks appear in a large area, chisel the wall base at the crack into a U-shape, and the spacing between U-shaped grooves is more than 20CM. Then, roughen the chiseled base and hang steel wire mesh.
2. After the wall base is cleaned, stick a layer of polyester cloth, kraft paper or newspaper on the wall first, and use the tension of fiber to ensure the integrity of latex paint film. This method is relatively simple, but the effect is average.
3. Remove the insulation board from the wall, or remove the cement wall. Install a layer of gypsum board or "five-inch board" outside the insulation layer, and then make latex paint on it. This method can remove all irregular cracks, which are generally joints between plates and are easier to handle. However, this method is expensive and difficult to build.
The thickness of plaster layer is as above. In fact, when making plastering layer, it should be decided according to the actual requirements of wall surface and decoration, and it is also affected by many factors. When the owner doesn't know the relevant content of plastering layer, he can entrust it to a professional decoration master. If cracks have appeared in the plastering layer, no matter the size of the cracks, they should be able to be repaired in time, and the plastering layer should be restored as soon as possible to avoid more problems in the plastering layer.
