Humanities and nature in Dasha Village
Dasha Village was built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties and has a history of more than 400 years. Dasha Yin Clan Ancestral Hall, also known as Baobentang, is located in the old enclosure of Dasha Village, Dalingshan Town, covering an area of 372 square meters. The construction time of the temple is unknown. With its advanced building stones and its floral patterns, it belongs to the Ming Dynasty architecture. The temple has a history of revolutionary activities. In 1925, Peng Pai came here to develop the peasant movement; in 1926, Cai Ruping, Li Henian and Yin Yousheng of the same village established the Farmers Association, the Farmers Self-Defense Force and the Farmers Night School here. During the Anti-Japanese War, Zhang Ying used teachers as a cover to organize the Dasha Self-Defense Force to carry out anti-Japanese activities. On January 8, 2004, it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Dongguan City.
The Dasha Ancient Forest is located at the back of the village. It is about 500 meters long from east to west and 120 meters wide from north to south. It is half-moon shaped and has a total area of about 40 acres. The lush and tall trees act as a natural barrier against the north wind, and the villagers call it the "Feng Shui Forest". According to an inspection conducted by the Dongguan Forestry Bureau in 2002 together with relevant forestry experts and scholars in the Guangdong Provincial Forestry, there are more than 30 tree species in the forest, including banyan, lotus, camphor, duck foot, green fruit fig, white dong, and cinnamon, which are more than 100 years old. There are 575 old trees. In April 2006, the Dongguan City Greening Committee listed the tree monument as an ancient forest reserve and an ancient forest scientific research base.
In recent years, the quality of various tasks in Dasha Village has been continuously improved, including party building, service levels, family planning, health, civil affairs, employment, comprehensive management and stability maintenance, etc. There are two small parks, cultural parks, and cultural parks in the area.
