The basis of Taiyi Liuren plate
In the Han Dynasty, Liu Ren Shu was very popular, which is a divination technique based on the theory of Yin Yang and Five Elements. Among the five elements of water, fire, wood, metal, and earth, water is the first; among the ten heavenly stems A, B, B, D, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, and Gui, Ren and Gui both belong to water, and Ren is Yang. Water, Gui is yin water, discarding yin and taking yang, so it is named Ren; among the sixty Jiazi, there are six Rens, namely Renshen, Ren, Wu, Renchen, Renzi, and Renxu, so it is named Liuren. At that time, people created a tool for Liuren divination, which is the Liuren-style disk. Liuren-style disks have been unearthed many times in modern archeology, and there are still seven of them in existence. The Liuren-style disk is divided into two parts: the sky disk and the earth plate. The sky is round and the earth is round. The sky plate is embedded in the earth plate, and there is an axis in the center that can rotate freely. The "Jingyou Liuren Shending Jing" written by Yang Weide in the Northern Song Dynasty records the method of making the form: a dou ladle is made in the sky, pointing to the Tiangang, with twelve celestial bodies in the middle and twenty-eight constellations in the middle. Four-dimensional situation. The earth is composed of twelve stars, eight stems, five elements, and thirty-six birds. The heavenly gate, the earthly household, the human gate, and the ghost road are the four corners. That is to say, in the center of the sky is the Big Dipper, which is ranked twelve stars or twelve divine generals (the twelve months will be: Zhengming, Haijiang, the first month general; Tiankui, Xujiang, February general; Congkui, Youjiang). General, general in March; Zhuan, general in Shen, general in April; Shengxian, general in Wei, general in May; Xiaoji, general in noon, general in June; Taiyi, general in July, general in July; Tiangang, general in Chen, August General; Taichong, Mao general, the ninth general; Gongcao, Yin general, the tenth general; Daji, the ugly general, the eleventh general; Shenhou, the son general, the twelve month general)
Symbolizing December, the twenty-eight constellations are listed outside, representing the constellations. The land is divided into heavenly stems, representing the five elements: wood A and Yi in the east, fire Bing and Ding in the south, metal Geng and Xin in the west, water Ren and Gui in the north, and earth Wu and Ji in the center, which are distributed to the four corners of heaven, earth, humans, and ghosts. The twelve stars on the land symbolize the eight directions and the direction of the sunrise. What Yang Weide said is a later form, which is slightly more complex than the Han system. Judging from the unearthed objects, the Big Dipper is painted on the Liuren-style pan of the Han Dynasty. There are two circles of seal characters around it. The outer circle is the Twenty-Eight Constellations, and the inner circle is twelve numbers, representing the December generals. The land has three layers of seal characters, the inner layer has eight stems and four dimensions, the middle layer has twelve branches, and the outer layer has twenty constellations. When using it, turn the sky disk and judge the good or bad luck based on the corresponding stems and branches of the sky disk and the earth. In the early days, the Liuren-style disk was probably only used to predict the good or bad luck of a certain day. Later, its use continued to expand, and it was also used to judge the good or bad luck of the direction, which was closely related to Feng Shui. Volume 14 of "Tang Liu Dian" records that Liu Ren Shu is used in nine aspects, one is marriage, the second is illness, the third is calendar, the fourth is house, the fifth is fortune, the sixth is official, the seventh is temple sacrifice, and the eighth is Disease onset, nine days of funerals, of which the fourth and ninth aspects are definitely related to Feng Shui.
