How foggy weather is formed
The generation of fog requires too much water content in the air to form fog, so fog is easy to form in the morning and evening in autumn and winter. The reason why fog dissipates can be caused by the warming of the ground surface, causing the fog to evaporate, or the increase in wind speed, causing the fog to be blown up into clouds.
The duration mainly depends on the conditions. Fog in dry areas will only last about 1 hour, and in humid areas it will last for 6 hours. Generally speaking, the fog starts in the evening and will basically dissipate around 6 o'clock. It also depends on the season and the time when the sun comes out. As long as the sun comes out, the fog will dissipate soon. You need to pay attention to safety when traveling in foggy weather, especially when visibility is particularly low.
The foggy weather brings great safety risks to us when driving. In order to prevent accidents, we have summarized some precautions for driving in foggy weather:
1. Arrange travel time reasonably
From November 26th to December 1st, there will be heavy fog in these days. The fog usually starts from after 11 o'clock at night to around 2 o'clock in the morning. The thick fog cleared around ten o'clock the next morning. Highways are often subject to grade control during heavy fog. To avoid delays in planned matters, please arrange your travel time reasonably.
2. Use lights correctly
Usage regulations: Turn on fog lights, tail lights, width lights and low beam lights to improve visibility, see the dynamics of vehicles and pedestrians clearly, and avoid rear-end collisions or Scratching accidents occur. But do not use high beams. The light from high beams is high and can easily shine into the eyes of oncoming drivers after being refracted by heavy fog, blurring their vision and causing accidents.
3. Hear from all directions
Visibility is poor in foggy weather. Frequently honking the horn can warn pedestrians and vehicles and indicate the position of your own car to avoid collisions due to low visibility. ACCIDENT. On the highway, once you hear the sound of a vehicle impacting ahead, you should quickly stop the car on the side of the road and turn on all the lights while ensuring safety. The people in the car need to climb over the guardrail and wait on the side of the road, and walk along the roadside. Go to the outside of the road and set up a warning sign 100 meters behind the car (luminous objects are better), and quickly leave the road after completion.
4. Driving at low speed
In heavy fog, even in light fog areas, the driving speed should be appropriately reduced and the driving distance should be appropriately increased. When the visibility is between 200 meters and 500 meters, the speed should not exceed 80 kilometers per hour, and the driving distance should be maintained at more than 150 meters. When the visibility is between 100 meters and 200 meters, the speed should not exceed 60 kilometers per hour, and the driving distance should be kept above 100 meters. When the visibility is between 50 meters and 100 meters, the speed cannot exceed 40 kilometers per hour, and the driving distance should be maintained at more than 50 meters. When visibility is within 30 meters, the speed should be controlled below 20 kilometers per hour; when the general visual distance is about 10 meters, the speed should be controlled below 5 kilometers per hour.
5. Pull over at the right time
When thick fog suddenly falls and it is too late to enter the nearest service area, you should park the car on the highway emergency stop zone as soon as possible and turn on the fog at the same time. lights, width indicators and tail lights, get off the car on the right side and stay as far away from the road as possible. Never sit in the car and avoid being hit by the guardrail to avoid being hit by passing cars. In addition, warning signs must be set up 150 meters away from the direction of oncoming traffic. When your vision is restored to a certain level, leave the emergency stop zone as soon as possible.
6. Clean sight
When driving in foggy weather, the front windshield is easy to fog up, which not only damages the driver's sight, but also makes the lights emitted by oncoming cars appear unclear. Especially dazzling.
Remember not to drive while wiping fog. In addition to frequently using wipers to remove water vapor while driving, you can also turn on the air conditioner or slightly open the windows to eliminate or avoid glass fogging
