Introduction to Zhouyi: What is Xiao Cheng Tu

The "Xiao Cheng Tu" method in "The Book of Changes" is different from the techniques of Najia Yaochen, Heluo Meihua, and Qimen Liuren, but was discovered from "Zhouyi·Xici·Shuo Gua" An ancient method.

1. The naming of "Xiao Cheng Tu"

The diction of "The Book of Changes" is ancient and mysterious, which is different from other literary and historical works. The wording and diction have unique meanings. The word "Xiaocheng" comes from "Xici" "Eight out of ten times it becomes a hexagram, and a trigram becomes a small success". The sentence "Bagua and Xiaocheng" is the origin of the name "Xiaochengtu". Gai Ying "Xiao Cheng" and "Dayan" are opposite, opposite but complementary to each other. The "Dayan number" is a six-line hexagram obtained by dividing the number of heaven and earth into a six-line hexagram, and eight out of ten are divided into six-line hexagrams. With or without moving lines included, the hexagrams are divided into eight single hexagrams and arranged into a picture, so it is called "Xiaochengtu". The name seems to be small, but it is actually enlarged. That is to say, "The name is small, the category is large, the purpose is far-reaching, the diction, the words are melodious, and the deeds are explicit and hidden, because they are used to benefit the people and to reveal the rewards of losses." It may not be wrong to say that this article is a tribute to "Xiaochengtu" even though it has a small name! What a perfect fit! It's really perfect.

《Zhuangzi. There is a saying in Qiwu Lun: "The Tao is hidden in Xiaocheng". Zhuangzi understands the Yi, so he has the theory that the Yi has taught Yin and Yang, which is similar to what "One Yin and One Yang are called Tao" in "Xici". It can be seen that the Xiaocheng Tu method is a kind of hexagram method that has existed since ancient times. It's just that the method of deduction has been changed and lost. Although it has been mentioned, most of it is not systematic.

Until modern times, Huo Feiran, the master of Yi studies, spent his whole life to break through the three styles of learning one by one, combined the theory and practice of the Zhouyi system, and created a "small complete picture" to guide the application of "Zhouyi" Its effectiveness can be said to be the same as Najia Yaochen and Plum Blossoms Yi Count. Accumulate "small achievements" and become a big success. Become a master of Yi studies.

Method of forming hexagrams

1: "Xiao Cheng Tu" method of forming hexagrams

According to the saying that "good or bad luck can be determined by words", one must first "set up the hexagram". The method of setting up the hexagram is "eight times out of ten, it will be transformed into a hexagram", that is, the single digit of the number of heaven and earth is used to set up the hexagram, and the hexagram will be developed into a hexagram. It must be an elephant method with six lines as a whole. Xiaocheng's hexagram is to use single digits to get a single hexagram with three lines as one, that is, "observe the changes in yin and yang and establish a hexagram". There is no need to calculate. The odd number is The Yang hexagram, the even number is the Yin hexagram. Later generations only know the name of Najia, but do not know that the "number of heaven and earth" is real. That is:

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, ninety

A, B, C, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Rengui

Zhu Xi in "Book of Changes." The first chapter of the book "Original Meaning" is "Yi Yi", which means that "The Book of Changes" is a book of divination and divination, the words are derived from the phase, the phase is the hexagram, the hexagram comes from the phagocytosis, the phagocytosis is counted, and the number comes from the number of heaven and earth, that is "The sky is one and the earth is two, the sky is three and the earth is four, the sky is five and the earth is six, the sky is seven and the earth is eight, the sky is nine and the earth is ten." The number of heaven is five, the number of earth is five, and the five are in harmony with each other. The number of heaven is fifty-five, the number of earth is thirty, and the number of heaven and earth is fifty-five. He also said: The number of Dayan is fifty, and the number forty is nine. Divide it into two to represent two, hang one to represent three, and draw it into four to represent the four seasons. Yu Fan sequentially annotated the ten heavenly stems of "A, B, Bing, Ding, Wuji, Geng, Xinrengui", the moon body Najia in "Zhouyi Cantongqi", the sixty-four hexagrams in "Silk Book of Zhouyi", and the twenty-four mountains in Fengshui "Luo Jing" Applications all have the traces of the hexagrams of heaven and earth. (Another book written by Zheng Zhuo is "An Explanation of Doubts on the Dayan Numbers of Zhouyi") Use Dayan for big things, and use Xiaocheng for small things.

Xiao Cheng’s hexagrams are eight hexagrams determined by ten numbers. Only the two hexagrams of Qian and Kun appear again, which is not lost in nature. , the remaining six hexagrams should not be equal to Qiankun. Chapter 6 of "Shuo Gua", both discussions on the Bagua leave the two hexagrams of Qian and Kun. Gaiyin describes all things, but all things should not be equal to the universe. The universe is vast and encompasses everything. Therefore, when the universe comes out again, it can be combined with the way of change. Xiao Cheng's hexagram is based on numbers and does not require calculation. It is simple and flexible, and it is purely natural.

Originally, "Xiao Cheng Tu" used hexagrams, "there is no fixed method, the first hexagram shall prevail." Wang Bi said: "Contacts can be used as symbols, and meanings can be used as signs." Both can be inferred by laying out "small diagrams".

When you are proficient in academics and use it naturally, you will naturally feel that "people are in the hexagrams, and the hexagrams are in the people". You don't need paper and pen, and you can answer questions immediately, all with the wonderful taste of "Yi Chang" residence guidance.

Two: "Heaven and Earth Disk" is the framework

"Heaven and Earth Disk" is a simulation based on "The Dharma Image is greater than the Heaven and Earth" in "Xici". It is the implementation of "the heaven and the earth are set in place, and it is easy to walk within them." In "Xici", whenever "Qiankun" is mentioned instead of the other six hexagrams, "Qiankun" refers to "Heaven and Earth". "Xiaochengtu" uses King Wen's Bagua and Nine Palaces as the "territory", which is eternal and unchangeable, and serves as the "coordinate" positioning. Then the hexagrams will be derived, that is, the hexagrams of the main hexagram, the upper hexagram, the lower reciprocal hexagram, and the last eight hexagrams, which will be expanded to the space according to the yin and yang levels, that is, the "Xiao Cheng Tu" overlaps on the "territory" of the Nine Palaces . The Eight Diagrams of the Nine Palaces of the Territory are often hidden and do not need to be written out. Only the "Xiaocheng Diagram" is written out, which is the "Heaven Pan". This is also the specific implementation of "The sky hangs down like an image to see good or bad luck" in "Xici".
