Historical Evolution of Baxianshan National Nature Reserve in Tianjin
Emperor Chongzhen of the Ming Dynasty sent Mr. Feng Shui to hike near Changrui Mountain because there were no good caves to choose from in Tianshou Mountain. He took a fancy to the good feng shui in this area and planned to build a royal cemetery in this area.
In the eighth year of Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty (165 1), Shunzhi took a fancy to this treasure land of Dongling, but no imperial tomb was built during his reign. The construction of the imperial tomb began in the Kangxi period. The Qing Dynasty also built six royal tombs at the foot of Huanghua Mountain and behind Shitouying Village near Baxian Mountain.
In the second year of Xuantong (19 10), the Qing government was unable to pay the salaries of Dongling guards, so it announced the lifting of the "Feng Shui Forbidden Zone in Qingling" and "paying salaries with forests". Wood merchants from all over the world flocked to Baxian Mountain and its surrounding forests for predatory logging. In this historic disaster, the virgin forest of Baxian Mountain was seriously damaged.

The Japanese invaders also took this place as the focus of bombing, which made the already riddled Baxianshan forest looted by gunfire.
