A large-scale strong convection is coming! Many places have issued warnings of strong winds and heavy rains. What about the wheat in the field?
In addition, Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou and other places will also encounter the largest range of strong convective weather since 2022, or there will be thunderstorms, hail and other weather.
What is strong convective weather? It is characterized by sudden, fast-moving and extremely destructive disastrous weather, such as thunderstorm and gale, hail, tornado and local heavy rainfall.
From April 24 to 27, severe weather in many places has met the characteristics of strong convective weather.
The occurrence of strong convective weather has a great influence. From people's daily life, normal travel will be affected, especially for people who go to work, and traffic will become inconvenient.
From the perspective of agricultural planting, strong convective weather has a great influence on crops, such as thunderstorms and strong winds will lead to lodging, hail will damage crops (especially fruit trees), local heavy rainfall may cause waterlogging, light will lead to reduced production, and even crop failure will occur in severe cases.
According to the weather forecast of the Central Meteorological Observatory, on April 25, there were heavy rains in central and southern Henan, northern and western Anhui, central and northern Jiangsu, central and eastern Hubei, Hunan, central and northern Jiangxi, southeastern Guizhou and northwestern Guangxi. On April 26, there were heavy rains in parts of southern Hunan, southwestern Guizhou, northwestern Guangxi and central and northern Jiangxi. On April 27th, there were heavy rains in parts of southern Hunan, southwestern Jiangxi, northwestern Fujian and northwestern Guangdong.
From the analysis of the rainfall trend of the above three days, the rainstorm range was the largest on the 25th, and then the rainfall moved from north to south. On the 27th, the rainstorm area was reduced to a smaller range. After 27th, there are few rainstorm areas, and the peak periods are 25th and 26th.
Strong convective weather is mainly concentrated in the south of the Yellow River, in which Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu and other places are the main wheat producing areas in China. At this time, wheat has entered the flowering and filling stage. So, what effect will strong convective weather have on wheat? What should a farmer friend do?
Judging from the growth habits of wheat, if wheat is in flowering stage and encounters strong convective weather, strong winds and heavy rains will affect the normal flowering of wheat, thus affecting the pollination of wheat, which will easily lead to grain shortage in the ear of wheat, or increase the number of grains, reduce the 1000-grain weight, and finally form a yield reduction.
After wheat enters the flowering and filling stage, the ear has already formed, and there will be a situation of "top-heavy". In strong convective weather, wheat is prone to lodging under the blessing of strong winds and heavy rains, which is also a problem that farmers and friends are very concerned about this heavy rainfall.
If wheat lodging occurs at this time, there will be different yield reduction ranges according to the severity of lodging.
If the wheat lodging is serious, the roots lodging, and basically close to the ground, don't lift it easily by hand, so as not to break the roots.
For lodging wheat, foliar fertilizer can be sprayed after rain to promote the sustainable growth of wheat. If the lodging is not serious, it will grow straight by itself. If lodging is serious, let it grow until it is mature.
Under heavy rainfall, the humidity in the field is high, and the temperature rises quickly after rainfall, which is also the high incidence period of wheat scab and wheat rust.
Therefore, after the rain clears, it is necessary to spray fungicides as soon as possible to prevent pests and diseases in the field.
Wheat scab can be sprayed with fenpropathrin, thiophanate-methyl, tebuconazole and prochloraz in a single dose. If the local wheat scab is serious, it is suggested to spray compound chemicals, such as pyraclostrobin+epoxiconazole, tebuconazole+prochloraz, trifloxystrobin+tebuconazole, etc.
Wheat rust can be sprayed with triadimefon, tebuconazole and propiconazole. If serious or strong drug resistance occurs in the local area, it is recommended to spray compound drugs, such as dimethoate, tebuconazole and benzoxazole.
After the strong convective weather passed, the time entered May, and the temperature in many places gradually increased. High temperatures above 30 degrees are more common. Coupled with the high humidity in the field and windy weather, it is easy to form dry and hot winds. The dry-hot wind of wheat is also one of the important meteorological disasters that affect the yield.
Therefore, we should pay special attention to the harm of dry-hot wind and spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate or special foliar fertilizer for wheat to prevent the formation of dry-hot wind.
It is recommended to spray with bactericide and insecticide.
The agricultural technology extension station said that it is necessary to do a good job in wheat management after strong convective weather in accordance with the principle of "disaster prevention, irrigation promotion, quality improvement and storage preservation" and strive for a bumper harvest of wheat.
In addition, in the process of strong convective weather, farmers' friends should also pay attention to their own safety and try not to go out.
Ask everyone, is there a rainstorm there?
