Li Yuan, Emperor Gaozu of the Tang Dynasty (566-June 25, 635), courtesy name Shude, was born in Chengji, Longxi. His ancestral home was Yaoshan, Xingzhou. He was the founding emperor of the Tang Dynasty. Li Yuan was born into a noble family in the Northern Zhou Dynasty and was granted the title of Duke of Tang at the age of seven. During the reign of Emperor Kaihuang, he successively served as the governor of Qiao, Long and Qi prefectures. After Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty came to the throne, Li Yuan successively served as the prefect of Xingyang (now Zhengzhou, Henan) and Loufan (now Jingle, Shanxi). Later he was called to be the young eunuch in the palace, and was promoted to the rank of Wei Wei Shaoqing. In the eleventh year of Daye (615), Li Yuan paid homage to the ambassador of comfort in Hedong, Shanxi; in the thirteenth year of Daye (617), he paid homage to Taiyuan to stay behind.

When the world was in chaos at the end of the Sui Dynasty, Li Yuan took advantage of the situation and raised troops from Taiyuan to capture Chang'an. In the fifth lunar month of the second year of Yining (618), Li Yuan accepted the abdication of Emperor Gong of the Sui Dynasty and proclaimed himself emperor. He established the Tang Dynasty and made Chang'an its capital. He gradually eliminated the separatist forces in various places and unified the country. In the ninth year of Wude (626), after the Xuanwu Gate Incident, Li Yuan abdicated the throne and became the Supreme Emperor, and his son Li Shimin was enthroned. In the ninth year of Zhenguan (635), Li Yuan died of illness. His posthumous title was Emperor Taiwu, his temple name was Gaozu, and he was buried in Xianling. In the eighth lunar month of the first year of Shangyuan (674), his title was changed to Emperor Shenyao. In the second month of the lunar calendar in the thirteenth year of Tianbao (754 years), he was honored as Emperor Shenyao, Great Sage, and Emperor Daguangxiao.

Deng Baoshan was a think tank in the northwest of the Republic of China for decades. He participated in the China Alliance in his early years and was an army general in the national army. During the Revolution of 1911, he participated in the Ili Uprising in Xinjiang. In 1924, he was appointed division commander of the Second National Army. Later, he became the acting chairman of Gansu Province. Since 1932, he has served as director of the Xi'an Appeasement Office in Gansu and commander of the New First Army. During the Anti-Japanese War, he served as commander of the 21st Army Corps and commander-in-chief of the Shanxi-Shaanxi-Sui Border Region. He went to Yan'an many times to meet with Communist leaders and agreed with the anti-Japanese national united front policy. In August 1948, he was appointed deputy commander-in-chief of the "Suppression General" in North China. At the end of the year, on behalf of Fu Zuoyi, he negotiated with representatives of the People's Liberation Army and reached an agreement on the peaceful liberation of Peiping (today's Beijing). After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as chairman and governor of the Gansu Provincial People's Government. He was shocked during the "Cultural Revolution" and died of illness on November 27, 1968. He was later rehabilitated.
