How is the weather forecast area divided?

In China, meteorological stations at all levels are responsible for the release of weather forecasts, so the terminology of forecast areas is also different. The Central Meteorological Observatory is responsible for issuing nationwide weather forecasts, and its regional terms are Northeast China, North China and South China. The meteorological observatory of our province is responsible for releasing the weather forecast of Shandong inland, Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea. In various weather forecasts, words such as "Northwest Shandong, South Shandong and Peninsula" are often used. So, where exactly do they mean?

According to the climate, geographical characteristics and administrative divisions of Shandong, Shandong is divided into four major regions in meteorology, and the major regions include sub-regions. These standard areas are used when issuing weather forecasts or providing other meteorological products. These four areas are: northwest Shandong, central Shandong, southern Shandong and Peninsula. Among them, northwest Shandong includes Liaocheng, Dezhou, Binzhou, Dongying, Shanghe and Jiyang counties in Jinan, and Gaoqing and Huantai counties in Zibo. Shandong includes Tai 'an, Laiwu, Weifang, Jinan and most parts of Zibo. Southern Shandong includes Heze, Zaozhuang, Jining, Linyi and Rizhao; The peninsula includes Yantai, Weihai and Qingdao.

According to the needs of different weather, the large area is divided into small areas. For example, northwest Shandong is divided into east and west parts; Shandong is divided into north, south, east and west; Southern Shandong is divided into southwestern Shandong and southeastern Shandong; The peninsula area is divided into the south and north of the peninsula according to the north-south direction, and the inland and coastal areas of the peninsula according to the inland and coastal areas.

In offshore wind power forecast, "forecast sea area" refers to the forecast sea area that Shandong is responsible for, including the southern Bohai Sea, the Bohai Strait and the central and southern Yellow Sea.
