Datong shadow play

It has a history of more than 300 years since it was introduced in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties (A.D. 1644). In 2006, Datong Shadow Play was listed in the intangible cultural heritage list of Qinghai Province. As an important part of Hehuang Shadow Play in 2008, Datong Shadow Play has been included in the national intangible cultural heritage list. Datong shadow play is a kind of folk art form that integrates quyi, music and opera. The combination of light, shadow and color forms the appreciation of shadow sculpture art.

Datong embroidery

There are four kinds: one is practical, mainly shoes, socks, belts, braids and pillows, which are the main body of embroidery; Second, the ornamental category, mainly money, collars, sleeves, wallets, pocket pieces, etc. Third, etiquette, mainly wallets, pencil cases, living accounts, elegiac couplets, calligraphy and painting. Datong peasant painting has the characteristics of exaggeration, roughness, directness, strong decoration, rich national and folk customs, rich life atmosphere and obvious regional characteristics, and has been listed in the provincial intangible cultural heritage list. In 2008, datong county was named as the hometown of folk culture and art (peasant painting) in China by the Ministry of Culture. More than 20 works have participated in previous exhibitions of peasant paintings in China, including national first prize 1, second prize 3, third prize 5 and excellent prize 10. Nearly 2000 works participated in provincial, municipal and county painting and calligraphy exhibitions, and many works won prizes, were published and collected. Datong Hui and Tu Autonomous County has 12 provincial-level cultural relics protection units, 24 county-level cultural relics protection units and 96 cultural relics and historic sites. County-wide cultural relics 1060 pieces, including 3 pieces of first-class cultural relics (copper ingots, glazed porcelain pots with flowers, and sauce-colored flat pots) and 4 pieces of second-class cultural relics (bronze elder brother, wooden axe, bronze axe with picks, and military seal of Weiqianhu in Xining).
