1934 The first constitution was adopted and the International Badminton Federation was formally established. The International Badminton Federation was founded with nine members (Canada, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales), and then it quickly developed into an international organization with many members and was recognized by the world.
1981may, IBF merged with another organization, World Badminton Federation, which was founded in 1978, and kept its original name. On September 24th, 2006, the International Badminton Federation was officially renamed as the current Badminton World Federation. The first action of the new Federation is to set up the 12 badminton super series in 2007, and the finals of the super series will be held at the end of the season.
