Why is it windy, rainy and cloudy? What's going on here?
There are two reasons for the formation of wind, that is, the difference between the earth's rotation and the degree of heating of the earth's surface by the sun. The earth is spinning, which means that people standing on the equator of the earth move about 25,000 miles every day. The friction between the earth's surface and the atmosphere makes the air above this person move. However, because there is no fixed connection between the atmosphere and the ground, its moving speed is relatively slow, so in the eyes of people on the ground, the air is moving. But because of the existence of the sun, the movement of the wind is more complicated. Where the land and sea are exposed to the most solar radiation, the air warms and moves upward, and vice versa. The downward air creates a high pressure area, and the air in the high pressure area will flow to the low pressure area, so we see the wind. This is just the simplest explanation about the wind. In fact, the wind we see every day is a very complicated phenomenon, and its cause is not only the above-mentioned forces, but also the influence of water, mountains and rivers and even buildings and trees.
Rain:
The rain was changed by clouds. The volume of raindrops is 6.5438+0 million times that of cloud drops. In other words, it takes 6.5438+0 million cloud drops to form a raindrop. In humid air, cloud droplets condense due to cooling. In warm clouds with cloud body temperature higher than 0℃, there are cloud drops of different sizes in the clouds, and the big cloud drops fall fast and rise slowly; Xiaoyun water drops slowly and rises quickly. As a result, because of the different relative velocities of the big and small cloud droplets, the big cloud droplets have a chance to collide with the small cloud droplets, and as a result, the small cloud droplets merge into the big cloud droplets. In this way, the number of large cloud droplets is increasing, and due to the uneven distribution of updraft, large cloud droplets can move up and down many times in the cloud. Coupled with the turbulence in the cloud, the probability of large cloud droplets increasing increases, so the large cloud droplets become larger and larger until the updraft can't hold down and it rains.
Cloud:
Clouds form where moist air rises and meets cold air. This may happen in the following situations:
(1) front clouds, warm air mass rises into clouds.
(2) terrain clouds, when the air rises along the positive terrain.
(3) advection cloud, when the air mass passes through the cold underlying surface, such as cold water.
(4) convective clouds, clouds generated by air convection.
⑤ Cyclone cloud is caused by the updraft in the cyclone center.
