In the first year of Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty, Zhang Xianzhong went to Niujiaozhai again, only to see the vegetation growing on the stone bag that he bowed to his hometown three years ago like incense sticks inserted in front of the Buddha. At this time, he knew that the gods appeared.
Later, he led an army to drive directly to the county seat and beheaded Gu Chunyi, a magistrate of a county. Later, people named the stone bag where Zhang Xianzhong missed his hometown as Wangxiang Stone. The stone that burns incense and worships is named censer stone. Now the vegetation here is also like a candle arch Buddha, evergreen all the year round; In those days, the manger and drinking tank were still well preserved for tourists to watch.
Niujiaozhai Giant Buddha is located on Niujiaozhai Mountain, Yingtou Village, 3 Gaojia Town, north of the county seat, with an altitude of 76 meters. The north and the south are connected by mountains in the west, with a close view of Yingtou Reservoir and a distant view of Sancha Lake in jianyang city. The ancient cypresses on the village are lush and rugged; A bust of Maitreya Buddha was carved on the cliff on the east side of the village, sitting west to east, with his hands folded, 15.85 meters high and 11 meters wide. It was completed in 77 AD.
Niujiaozhai is a battleground for military strategists because of its dangerous terrain. The strange rocks in the mountains have their own names: Wangxiang Stone, censer Stone, Panhai Stone, Duck Stone, Grandma Stone and so on. According to legend, Dong Chang 'an, Pan Wenhua, Shi Lu and Feng Jianwu, contemporary celebrities who grew up in the Wengong field near Niujiao Village, have all come here to worship Buddha.
