Where does Dabie Mountain refer to in Anhui?
Dabie Mountain is located at the junction of Anhui, Hubei and Henan provinces in China, with Tongbai Mountain in the west and Huoshan (also known as Wanshan) and Zhangbaling in the east. It is about 380 kilometers long from east to west and about 175 kilometers wide from north to south. The west section is northwest-southeast, and the east section is northeast-southwest, with a length of 270 kilometers and an altitude of 500-800 meters.
The elevation of Dabie Mountain is about 1500m, which is the watershed between the Yangtze River and Huaihe River. Baimajian, the main peak of Dabie Mountain (elevation1777m), is located in Huoshan County, Lu 'an City, Anhui Province. Dabie Mountain looks to Wuhan in the west and Nanjing in the east. Its unique geographical position makes it of great military value to Nanjing, the capital of the Republic of China, and Wuhan, the central city, which is also the geographical premise for Liu Deng's army to advance into Dabie Mountain.
