When will the typhoon arrive in Heze?

Typhoon "Dusuri" will enter Shandong in the south of Heze on the morning of July 30, 2023.

Affected by this, Heze City will experience significant rainfall from the night of the 28th to the night of the 31st. The average rainfall in the city is 90~140 mm, and local rainfall can reach more than 200 mm (the heavy rain standard is 50 mm).

It is reported that Typhoon "Dusuri" currently made landfall on the coast of Jinjiang City, Fujian Province at around 09:55. When it landed, the maximum wind force near the center of the typhoon was level 15 (50 meters/second, strong typhoon level) , the lowest central pressure was 945 hPa; at 12:00, "Dusuri" was located in Nan'an City, Fujian Province, and the maximum wind force near the typhoon center was level 13 (38 meters/second, typhoon level).

"Dusuri" is expected to move rapidly north-west at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour, gradually weakening in intensity. It will weaken to a tropical depression (level 6-7) on the 29th, and the low-pressure center will be on the 30th Entering Shandong in the south of Heze on the morning of the same day.

In order to avoid confusion in typhoon names, from November 25 to December 1, 1997, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO for short) held in Hong Kong by relevant countries and regions ) The Typhoon Committee decided at its 30th meeting to standardize the naming of typhoons. Among them, tropical cyclones in the northwest Pacific and South China Sea will be named with Asian-style names.

The naming method is: develop a naming list in advance, and then reuse it year after year in order. The naming list contains 140 names, provided by 14 member countries and regions in the Asia-Pacific region to which WMO belongs.

The name of the typhoon "Nabi" provided by South Korea was withdrawn because its pronunciation was similar to the Arabic prophet, so it was replaced by "Dusuri", which means a bird of prey.
