Wang Erlie, a native of Henan, moved to Jiangdu County (now Yangzhou City) in the Ming Dynasty. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, his fourth ancestor, Wang Xing, was appointed as the commander-in-chief of Liaodong, so he "settled in the Fengshui Valley in the south of Liaoyang" (see Jin Yufu's Quiet Room Diary). The Fengshuigou in the south of Liaoyang City is today's Fengshuigou Village in Lanjia Town, Liaoyang City.
