After reading the ordination
"Being Ordained" is Wang Zengqi's short masterpiece. The author tells the story of the ignorant love between Minghai and Xiaoyingzi. The following is a collection of post-reading thoughts on ordination for everyone. Welcome to read.
Reflections after reading the ordination (1)
In my impression, a monk is a solitary person with few shadows, strict rules and regulations, and lives his life. In the world of monks, everything is empty. Although it is said that it takes root when it comes to the ground, it is like floating in the air like duckweeds, born in the world, but struggling to pursue the realm. Is it true self-forgetfulness or false self-forgetfulness? True is also false, and sometimes false is true. Isn't it a waste of time to eat fast and chant Buddha's name?
"The Precepts" is not a carrier to talk about the monks' asceticism, nor is it a reading book for Dao Ming's ordeal. Minghai has been a monk for four years, so I can't help but think that this famous article that the world admires is just the ramblings of a monk's boring life. I read down with the mood of leisurely reading, and unknowingly I was attracted by the words in it. The quiet and leisurely village, the simple and honest villagers, the beautiful and simple Yingzi, and the helpful Mingzi form the most harmonious picture.
This is a story about love and beauty. It is the paradise described by Tao Yuanming, the world of great harmony in the eyes of Confucius, and the paradise in the heart of Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty. In this small village, what we see are acres of farmland, green hills, and individual homes, not sinister people and profit-driven villagers. There is a small temple here. The monks do not have to obey the strict rules and regulations. They can drink wine and eat meat, marry and have children, and live like gods. It seems that even now, I can still see Yingzi and Mingzi in Zhoushan, and hear the beautiful singing voice of Yingzi in the mountains. Villagers get along harmoniously with each other, instead of being ignorant of their neighbors today; people help each other, instead of watching others' misery with cold eyes; people make selfless contributions to each other, instead of chasing fame and fortune like today. Here, I saw humanity, the long-lost beauty of humanity, and the unfamiliar brilliance of humanity.
The author Wang Zengqi wrote this love story vividly. His writing is not gorgeous, but it is full of elegance. His language is beautiful, but not pretentious. The love he writes is pure, as clean as a stream, not as explicit as most foreign writers. Akiko and Eiko have not experienced any hardships, but they are unforgettable. Their love is not like Zhang Ailing said, it can withstand setbacks but not ordinary. Their stories are those times together and not together, their stories are in our eyes and in their hearts. That light yet strong love is embedded in every word in the article and sublimates above the boat.
Looking now, there is a layer of veil between people, and they cannot see or recognize each other clearly. Looking at society, we are everywhere promoting a harmonious society, but poisonous food processing, corrupt officials, and vandalism, looting, and burning are commonplace. Social disharmony makes people confused! As Han Han said, social disharmony is caused by two kinds of people, those who are hungry and hungry, and those who are full. Everyone is talking about harmony, but how many people still don’t understand that harmony also needs to start from the side. The government always advocates harmony, and the people look forward to harmony. When the government promulgates policies, it relies on the people to create harmonious and powerful macro-control, which can only do a small amount. The real power lies in the people. Harmony is also a kind of human beauty.
The reason why human nature is great is that human beings can transcend utility and gains and losses, and understand compassion, respect and tolerance.
Comments after reading "Ordained" (2)
When I first read "Ordained", looking at the bizarre life of a monk in the article, the only word that came to my mind was "absurd". First of all, from the perspective of traditional Chinese concepts, a monk should be upright and upright, follow a vegetarian diet, recite the Buddha's name, avoid sexual intercourse with women, and strictly abide by the rules. However, the monk in the article eats meat, plays cards, marries a wife, kills pigs, smokes, and sings lewd songs. He looks like a bunch of liars who just make ends meet. Secondly, the "March of First Love" between Xiao Mingzi and Xiao Yingzi. Xiao Mingzi first became a monk inexplicably, and then fell in love with Xiao Yingzi for a long time. Personally, I think this type of transparent romance has the flavor of a soap opera. Thirdly, he is the so-called "serious person" in the article - a man who hunts rabbits and steals chickens.
"Chicken stealing" is a business that "serious people" do. There are endless "absurd" settings. After watching "The Ordination" for the first time, it is really just "absurd".
In order to prevent myself from just staying at the "absurd" level, I browsed through the part about "The Ordination" in the textbook. I have my own opinions on some of the points mentioned in the textbook:
1. Digression.
The title of the novel is "The Ordination", but the scene of "the Ordinance" does not appear until the end of the novel, and it is profiled through Xiao Yingzi's eyes. The author does not regard it as a plot. center or hub.
These examples listed in the textbook will make people feel off-topic. I don't think so. I think the author deliberately made people feel off topic, and then realized the author's good intentions. After being ordained, the monks themselves should live a plain and simple life, but they are not serious, so the title and the text create a contrasting effect, and this contrasting effect expresses what the author wants to be ironic about. Phenomenon.
2. The theory of "Peach Blossom Spring".
On the surface, the protagonists of "The Ordinance" are Minghai and Xiaoyingzi, but the actual protagonists should be this "Peach Blossom Land"-style natural and simple ideal life. ?
I will not discuss whether the protagonist’s point of view is correct or not. What I want to say is that I do not agree with the statement of “Peach Blossom Spring” in the textbook. According to the original text of "Ordination", the monks do not abide by the rules. If I were a local villager, I would feel that my life is unstable. For example, the article says: "After a big fire, just like after a good theater troupe, one or two eldest girls and young wives will disappear - run away with the monks." ?Rather than saying that this is the result of free love, it is better to say that this is clearly using the guise of a monk to deceive women from good families. Also, I was unhappy with the depiction of a monk killing a pig. Not killing is itself a monk's commandment. However, if the monk in the article kills, "everything is the same as for lay people", except that when the pig ascends to heaven, there is an extra "rebirth curse". Disgusting! With such a hypocritical monk around, is this still a "Peach Blossom Land"?
3. The theory of "super utilitarianism".
Regarding this point, I was deeply touched after listening to my classmates’ speeches. The monk in the article has the ability to save money, and treating the monk as a profession means that he can eat for free and share his hard-earned money. This is essentially the pursuit of utilitarianism.
The above are some of my views on the textbook.
In addition to the textbook, I read "The Ordination" again. I always feel that "ordination" in the article is just a formal thing, and it does not have much practical significance for "monks". The author probably wants to use these monks to satirize some people in society who are not worthy of their name and have a simple diet, right?
I also have some opinions of my own about the couplets chosen in the article "Ordained":
? The big belly can accommodate the couplets "One Flower, One World". In fact, readers will associate these two couplets even if they do not appear clearly in the article, but since the author clearly wrote them out, they have to say it. "A big belly can tolerate", it tolerates a group of monks who are just eating. "A smile", smiles because of the monks' sanctimonious walking. "One flower, one world" is in sharp contrast to Hu Wei's monk. This contrast still strengthens the formality of the so-called "ordination". The last is the couplet from Xiaoyingzi's family, "Spring is always there in Xiangyangmen/People who have accumulated good deeds are more than happy". This couplet has a legend related to the monk: in the Song Dynasty, Su Dongpo and the eminent monk Foyin were friends for many years. Foyin was making fish soup that day, but Dongpo suddenly came to visit and caught him. Foyin wanted to hide the fish soup he made, but Dongpo had already discovered it. Dongpo did not explicitly point out the fish soup of Foyin, but he used the first couplet of this couplet to elicit the answer: "Everything has fish". This story is somewhat similar to the behavior of the monk in the article. There are so many couplets in the world, but the author chose this one. I think this is probably the reason. Personally, I think that this couplet hints at the fate between Xiao Yingzi and Minghai, and secondly, it shows that the monks in the Xizi Temple are not subject to the Qing Dynasty.
Comments after reading the ordination (3)
Yingzi jumped into the middle cabin, rowed quickly with two oars, and rowed into the reed pond. The reed flowers have just sprouted new ears. The purple-gray reed spikes glow silver, soft and slippery, like a string of silk threads. In some places, there are cattail sticks, which are bright red, like small candles. Green duckweed, purple duckweed. Long-legged mosquitoes, water spiders. Wild water chestnut has small white flowers with four petals. A green stake stirred up in surprise, grazed the reed ears, flew away and flew away. ?
Everything is beautiful.
Really? But why, why do I always have an unsolvable worry every time I read this short story full of warm feelings? What kind of worry is that? It’s like caring for a piece of cake. The small crystal handicraft was held gently and carefully stroked, lest it break.
I was surprised by my own feelings. Although I have never been a blind optimist, I am definitely not an evil person who curses all good things in a dark corner. Although the ordinary but almost perfect love story of Akiko and Eiko, why did it make me so uneasy and anxious?
So I searched, and I read it over and over again until I found the initiator of the uneasiness:
p>
?On August 12, 1980, I wrote about a dream I had forty-three years ago. ?
What a dream, what a dream forty-three years ago!
What kind of era was that? 1937, the Chinese people will never forget it A year that won’t last. During this year, the Saturn *** and the Kuomintang had just achieved a temporary ceasefire, and the band-legged people from Fuso began to provoke a war at the Marco Polo Bridge. The July 7th Incident, followed by the Battle of Songhu and the Nanjing Massacre?
The next year, 1938, the bloody battle in Taierzhuang, the sweep of the "Sanguang Policy"?
Yingzi The love story with Akiko actually happened in such a situation where the country was ruined and the family was ruined, and everything was precarious. Mr. Wang later wrote in "My Creative Life": "In 1938, our family took refuge in the countryside and lived in a small temple, which was the nunnery where my novel "Ordering" was written. In addition to the mathematics, physics and chemistry textbooks for preparing for the college entrance examination, I only brought two books, one is Turgenev's "Hunter's Notes" and the other is "Selected Works of Shen Congwen". I read these two books over and over again. , these two books had a great influence on my subsequent writing. ?
The beautiful and peaceful Zhaozhuang, the turbulent home and country, and the small and green happiness. Only in dreams can Mr. Wang give Yingzi and Mingzi that harmony and happiness. But what about breaking away from dreams?
Some people say that in the eyes of a thousand readers, there will be a thousand Hamlets. So, let me, the reader, be a little bold and put this one sealed away by Mr. Wang? It stirred up a green stake, rubbed the reeds, and flew away. ?The Crystal Dream at this ending is a little more shocking:
Full of love between Yingzi and Mingzi, the boat returned to Zhaozhuang. It can be imagined that when Yingzi announced that she would marry Mingzi, her parents You will be a little surprised, but the resistance will not be too great. Because in the eyes of Zhaozhuang people, the only difference between monks and farmers is that they can recite a few sutras. What's more, Mingzi is honest, willing to endure hardship, and smart. He has already helped a lot of the workers in Yingzi's field. His skills in driving cattle to the field, his ability to draw embroidery patterns for others, and his "very dark" calligraphy skills, no matter what, he couldn't choose. Eiko and Akiko were able to pass this hurdle set by their parents easily.
What happens next? Yingzi and Mingzi will grow up day by day, happily waiting for the arrival of auspicious times. Until one day, the news from the county seat blew up the entire Zhaozhuang: The Japanese are coming!
Yes, the Japanese are coming. After the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, the Japanese soldiers began to invade China in an all-round way. Big cities such as Peiping, Shanghai, and Nanjing fell one after another. Although Zhaozhuang was small, it would eventually get wind of it. How will the people in Zhaozhuang react at this time?
Those who are timid will pack up their clothes and run south or inland.
If you are brave, you may think of signing up to join the army. But I believe that the vast majority of farmers will never let go of the land that has been passed down from generation to generation and has been served by them all their lives. The honest and ordinary people of Zhaozhuang may be scared or panicked, but after discussing for a few days, they saw that the Japanese did not come immediately, so they gradually felt relieved and thought that everything was fine. Yes, Zhaozhuang is too small and the Japanese will not attack here.
Where are Yingzi and Mingzi? Mingzi lives in the temple. The third master is a shrewd and capable man. He is familiar with the world and is well-informed. He may find a way to go inland as soon as he hears the news. . Others, such as the great master, the second master, and the abbot will never leave this Feng Shui Bao'an, and Mingzi will naturally not leave either. It's just that when he and Yingzi were looking for water chestnuts in the threshing floor, they might have more topics to talk about. In the blink of an eye, a year has passed. Just when Mingzi put on a big red flower and went to marry Yingzi surrounded by a bunch of good people in Zhaozhuang, there were several gunshots at the head of the village. The Japanese entered the village.
I don’t want to think about what will happen next. Happy people are all similar, but tragedies are different. Perhaps, Mr. Wang fixed this story at the moment when the boat sailed into Luhuadang because he, as an old man, could not bear the possibility that such a pure and beautiful love could be easily broken?
See the point is Mountain, seeing a mountain is not a mountain, seeing a mountain is still a mountain.
When I thought of my friend’s words, I couldn’t help but smile bitterly. I know that it is wrong to interpret "The Ordinance" in this way. I have deviated from Wang Lao's main purpose and pursued some feelings that have nothing to do with the novel. But, perhaps because of the inquisitive nature of my nature, I saw the mountain behind the mountain: a hill that was originally green and beautiful was devastated after being completely destroyed by a group of bipedal beasts.
Under the overturned nest, there are no eggs left. If the skin is gone, the hair will not be attached.
The tragic ending has come to an end. Let us go back to the beginning, August 12, 1980, and write about a dream I had forty-three years ago. ?
What if I don’t break this dream, but continue to imagine it with good blessings? What if the era of Akiko and Eiko was only 1937, without all other political and military affairs? Wait for the annoying stuff, what will the story be like?
? Akiko! You useless man! Why don’t you call me Her Majesty the Queen!?
? Yes !Yes! You kick me as hard as you can! I am your useless slave!?
Every night late at night, the sky above Zhaozhuang will echo with Mingzi’s shrill screams and the crack of the whip. . Along with the constant chirping of frogs in the fields, it spread far away.
Post-reading thoughts on the ordination (4)
I have been in the Peach Blossom Land in "The Ordination" more than once. Here I seemed to have come to a primitive utopia, a peaceful and wonderful paradise. And fell in love with it regardless of everything!
It was an ideal paradise. To be precise, it was a primitive utopia. In the hearts of the people in Anzhaozhuang, monks farmed, weaved mats, There is no difference between barrel hoops, painting and other professions. They are all free and equal professionals and have nothing to do with the hardships of the world and the bitterness of life. For example, in Xiao Yingzi's family, Uncle Zhao is a master of everything in the field. He not only has a good temper, but also has a body as strong as an elm tree. Aunt Zhao is also amazingly energetic. Not only does she cook delicious local dishes, but she also cuts them well. Flowers are also a rare thing for married girls in many families; the two precious daughters are even more beautiful. The eldest Yingzi is quiet and already has a family, while the little Yingzi is lively and laughs all day long, like a magpie. From the life of this family, we can see that An Zhao A glimpse of all living beings in Zhuang Yunyun.
As for the life of a monk in the Water Chestnut Nunnery, it is even more desirable. There is no fetters of the rules and regulations in ordinary Buddhist temples. As long as the monks here know a few basic skills of practicing rituals, such as placing yoga flames, worshiping Liang Huang and repenting, etc., from then on they can eat ready-made food, make money, return to secular life, get married, and buy land, and live happily ever after. Fairy days.
The old master in the nunnery sits there and chants Buddha's name all day long, not caring about worldly affairs, just intoxicated in that "one flower, one world". Master Renshan is the "head of the family" and is in charge of three account books: financial accounts, rent accounts, and debt accounts. He never wears cassocks in the nunnery on weekdays. He often wears a short monk's robe, exposing his round yellow belly and bare feet. He was kicking his slippers; the other two masters also had their own merits. The second master had a family in the secular world, and even brought his wife to escape the summer heat every year; the third master was not only beautiful, but also had the unique skill of "flying cymbals", and even After every religious ceremony, an older girl or younger daughter-in-law in the village will suddenly disappear. The most surprising thing is that they never hide their meat from others, and even kill pigs in the main hall during the Chinese New Year. The monks here live a happy time day after day, year after year. Where is this? Buddhism Pure Land is clearly a modern version of Peach Blossom Land.
In such a paradise-like dreamland, our little protagonists Xiao Mingzi and Xiao Yingzi met: Xiao Mingzi, who has a face like the bright moon, a voice like a bell, is smart and studious, and is becoming a monk with his uncle. When I got off the monk's ferry, I met Xiao Yingzi. Gradually, they became good friends. Mingzi often went to Xiao Yingzi's house. In this way, their first love quietly sprouted. They knitted together and painted flowers. An embroidery; they planted rice seedlings, herded cattle, cut rice, and watched the beating field together, especially a line drawing of them returning home after digging water chestnuts. She went back with a basket of water chestnuts, leaving a string on the soft field ridge. footprint. Minghai looked at her footprints and was dumbfounded.
There are five small toes, the soles of the feet are flat, the heels are thin, and a piece of the arch is missing. There was a feeling in Minghai that he had never experienced before, and he felt itchy in his heart. This series of beautiful footprints confused the little monk's heart. ?What a beautiful description. It perfectly depicts the mentality of boys and girls when they first fall in love. In the end, they went to the city together, one went to Shanyin Temple to receive ordination, and the other bought things for his family. They took a boat together and returned together. Finally, they finally forced Xiao Mingzi to express what was in his heart: he hoped Xiao Yingzi would be his wife.
In such an environment, so quiet and beautiful, people will unconsciously become one with the environment and have infinite reverie. "Order", the paradise-like dreamland, makes me yearn for it infinitely!

The article begins with a slow description of a unique paradise, which is more absurd than unique. The people in Anzhaozhuang are too tolerant. In their minds, a monk is an ordinary profession, such as a doctor, a scholar, a pawnshop, a businessman, etc. There is no difference. Monks can drink wine and eat meat, return to secular life, have sex with women, sing obscene songs, and gamble and play cards.
Can a monk still be a monk if he does not have to abide by the rules? Such a bizarre life has nothing to do with the bitterness of life and is completely inconsistent with the traditional Chinese concepts.
Let’s talk about Xiao Yingzi’s family. Uncle Zhao is a master of everything in the field. He not only has a good temper, but also has a body as strong as an elm tree. Aunt Zhao is also very energetic. She not only cooks her hometown dishes The work is delicious, and the pattern of the cut is also a rarity for married girls in many families; the two precious daughters are even more beautiful, the eldest Yingzi is quiet and has a family, and the little Yingzi is lively, laughing and joking all day long, like a magpie. The unique happy life of this village can be seen.
Wang Zengqi’s light writing style describes such a place, a paradise without bitterness, intrigues, and tolerance of all primitive desires. In the water chestnut nunnery, the second master has a family in the secular world, and even brings his wife here to escape the summer heat every year; the third master is not only beautiful, but also has the unique skill of "flying cymbals", and even after every religious ceremony, the village will An older girl or younger daughter-in-law suddenly disappears. However, no one criticized it. All this absurdity was so harmonious in the village.
I don’t agree with what most people on the Internet say. This is a tribute to the most primitive recovery of human nature. What's more, it is said to be a tribute to human primitive love.
Put yourself in the shoes of the original text of "The Ordination", after a big fire, just like after a good theater troupe, one or two eldest girls and young wives will disappear and run away with the monks. . ?Is this love? Rather than saying this is free love, it is better to say that women from good families are abducted under the guise of a monk. How would the parents of that family feel about their daughter who had gone through so much hardship to raise her?
In addition, the description of the monk killing pigs in the article also made me uncomfortable. Not killing is itself a monk's commandment. However, if the monk in the article kills, "everything is the same as for lay people", except that when the pig ascends to heaven, there is an extra "rebirth curse". Disgusting! With such hypocritical monks around, is this still a paradise?
In my opinion, being a monk is not a profession, and observing strict rules is not a suppression of human nature. For those who have seen through the world of mortals, choosing to become a monk is actually a relief. Give people with confused minds a chance to get away from the world. In the article, monks are turned into a profession and used to make money, which is an insult to the Buddhist faith.
Let’s talk about the main plot of the whole story, the childhood sweetheart relationship between Minghai and Xiaoyingzi, which is quite touching. Only in a tolerant environment like Anzhaozhuang can a budding romance grow. This is also the only place in the whole text that makes me feel like a paradise.
The title of the article is ordination, but the ordination is placed at the end and is briefly passed over. The author deliberately makes people feel off topic, and then appreciate the author's good intentions. After being ordained, the monks themselves should live a plain and simple life, but they are not serious, so the title and the text create a contrasting effect, and this contrasting effect expresses what the author wants to be ironic about. Phenomenon.

7 years old, what a beautiful age, it is also an age when you have a clear understanding and yearning for life and love. No wonder, just watching After seeing the little footprints of a little girl, I will be confused. But his natural shyness prevented him from confessing, so this vague love had to breed and mature in his heart, and his heart was still pure and beautiful. Although he has always been passively waiting and accepting the arrival of his first love, he firmly believes in his love for Xiao Yingzi and Xiao Yingzi's love for him. So, when he waited for love to hit like a storm, he spoke out what was in his heart, although this was still at the instigation of Xiao Yingzi, and this time, his bravery had defeated his cowardice. The revived humanity allowed him to hold happiness tightly in his own hands.
In contrast, Xiaoyingzi is more straightforward and bold. She had no qualms about speaking her mind, but she wasn't reckless. She committed herself to Ming Hai only after confirming his heart. She is straightforward but sincere; she is bold but cautious. She was convinced that her cuteness and dexterity would surely impress Ming Hai. She also knew that she had already secretly fallen in love with that beautiful and docile young man, so she expressed and released this love. It was this kind of proactive communication and calling that brought her and Minghai together. Sometimes, the intersection between people's hearts is just for a moment. If you miss that moment, I'm afraid the two people's hands will never be held together. The smart little Yingzi used her courage to win her true love. The true and pure human kindness contained in her gave her the most precious and beautiful happiness in life.
Although the novel describes a pure, peaceful, harmonious and comfortable rural style, there is also a touch of sadness hidden in it, such as why Minghai became a monk, and the pure and beautiful emotions between Minghai and Xiaoyingzi that seem to be in love but not in love. How long to keep it. These all contain a hint of subtle bitterness. Wang Zengqi's works are tranquil, leisurely, free and smooth, which shows the author's natural pursuit of life. The plain endings often contain thought-provoking philosophy of life. It makes people feel a faint throbbing.
