Jiayuguan Qilian Mountain Fengshui
The name of Qilian Mountain comes from Hun language, and the Huns call the sky "Qilian", so Qilian Mountain is the Tianshan Mountain in the Huns' mind. After losing control of Qilian Mountain in the game with Dahan Empire, Xiongnu lamented that "losing Qilian Mountain made my six livestock unhappy", which meant that without the high-quality pasture under Qilian Mountain, Xiongnu livestock could not reproduce. This shows the importance of Qilian Mountain to nomadic people.
Qilian Mountain is rich in water resources, forest and grassland resources, mineral resources and biological resources.
The northwest inland is dry and rainy, but the towering Qilian Mountain blocks the airflow and clouds, and snow-capped mountains and glaciers develop in high altitude areas, making Qilian Mountain a huge solid reservoir. According to the statistics of the former Institute of Glacier and Frozen Soil of China Academy of Sciences, there are 3,306 glaciers in Qilian Mountain, covering an area of about 2,062 square kilometers, accounting for 3.7% of the total area of glaciers in China.
Qilian Mountain Glacier belongs to continental glacier, which has low sensitivity to climate change and is relatively stable, and can supply rivers continuously. Glacier meltwater gathers into rivers in mountainous areas, forming Shule River, Shiyang River, Heihe River, Beida River and Dang River, of which 30% of Shule River's water comes from glacier meltwater. Rivers replenished by glacial meltwater have shaped a large area of forests, oases and pastures at the foot of Qilian Mountain, which has become a place where agriculture and animal husbandry have developed for thousands of years, triggering fierce competition among various ethnic groups, and Hexi Corridor has also become a traffic artery connecting the Central Plains and the Western Regions.
Qilian Mountain, as a folded mountain system, has complex geological structure and extremely rich mineral resources. Only gold, silver, antimony, gallium, selenium, yellow iron, ferrochrome, copper, lead, zinc, nickel, phosphorus, gypsum, mirabilite and rare earth elements such as cerium, lanthanum and yttrium have been identified. Datong River Basin is rich in coal reserves and is known as "Qinghai Black Belt".
Qilian Mountain is rich in wildlife. At present, there is a Qilian Mountain National Park with an area of 50,000 square kilometers, which is a huge ecological circle covering forests, grasslands, deserts, wetlands and other environments. There are higher plants 13 1 1 species, 229 terrestrial vertebrates, 92 birds 192 species and 988 insects in the park. There are 0/5 species of national first-class protected animals/kloc-and 39 species of national second-class protected animals, including rare species such as snow leopard, jackal, wild yak, argali, rock sheep, musk deer, red deer and forest musk deer. In addition, Qilian Mountain and its surrounding areas also produce more than 300 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines.
Qilian Mountain is extremely rich in natural resources, so it is called "Wanbao Mountain".
