Does the hot weather affect the baby's stool?
Infantile constipation is a common symptom, which can be divided into two categories according to the different causes of constipation. One is functional constipation, which is relatively common and can be cured through diet, life and rest.
The other is constipation caused by congenital intestinal malformation, which can not be cured by general conditioning and can only be completely cured by surgical correction. Most children's constipation belongs to functional constipation.
Infant constipation signal
Fecal volume is small and dry;
● Difficulty in defecation and pain during defecation;
● Abdominal fullness and pain;
Loss of appetite.
Whether the baby is constipated or not, we should not only look at the frequency of defecation, but also observe the quality and quantity of the baby's stool as a whole, whether it has an impact on the child's health. Every child's physical condition is different, so the number of normal defecation is different every day. For example, infants who are exclusively breastfed may defecate more times a day, while infants who are fed with milk or other milk substitutes may defecate 1 time or 1 time a day for 2-3 days. As long as the character and quantity are normal, and the baby has no other discomfort, it is normal.
Four reasons for baby constipation
There are many reasons for baby constipation, mainly the following:
improper diet
Functional constipation is most closely related to diet. The baby's diet is too thin, the fiber intake is insufficient, and the stimulation to the intestinal wall is not enough, which easily leads to constipation; Excessive intake of high protein can easily reduce the number of intestinal fermentative bacteria and affect fermentation, thus making the stool dry and thick; When the amount of food is insufficient, it is easy to cause constipation because of less intestinal residue, insufficient tension of abdominal muscles and intestinal muscles and weak peristalsis.
Irregular stool
Because of irregular defecation time, lack of relevant training, no defecation reflex was formed. Sometimes, although there is a feeling of defecation, because of playfulness or other interference, the baby may consciously inhibit defecation. Over time, the sensitivity of intestinal defecation reflex decreases, stool accumulates in the intestine, water is absorbed, stool becomes dry and difficult to discharge, thus forming the so-called habitual constipation.
Congenital physiological and anatomical defects
Some babies will be constipated because of some congenital diseases, such as intestinal stenosis, intestinal obstruction, rectum or anal stenosis, pyloric spasm, congenital pyloric stenosis, Hirschsprung's disease, etc.
