Features of weather radar

The structure of weather radar has the following characteristics: ① Use logarithmic intermediate frequency amplifier. Since the received power Pr is inversely proportional to the square of the distance R (see weather radar equation), the intensity of echoes at different distances can be directly compared after distance correction. ③With video integration processor (VIP). Since the precipitation echo signal has random fluctuations, the detection range needs to be divided into small areas, and the echo signals in each small area are averaged. Then, according to the echo intensity, black and white, color and digital hierarchical display can be realized. ④Radars for quantitatively measuring precipitation already have equipment for real-time monitoring of radar parameters. ⑤Advanced weather radars are controlled by electronic computers, which process meteorological data, such as precipitation, airflow speed, etc.
