Jiaxing, also known as "he cheng", is an urban agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta, an important city in Shanghai metropolitan area, a core city in Greater Bay Area around Hangzhou Bay, a sub-central city in Hangzhou metropolitan area, and a central city in G60 Science and Technology Corridor in Shanghai, Jiaxing and Hangzhou.

Jiaxing, a prefecture-level city in Zhejiang Province, is located in the northeast of Zhejiang Province and the hinterland of Hangjiahu Plain in the Yangtze River Delta. It is one of the important cities in the Yangtze River Delta. It faces the sea in the east, Qiantang River in the south, Taihu Lake in the north and Tianmu Water in the west. The Grand Canal runs through the whole territory. The city's land area is 92 kilometers long from east to west, 76 kilometers wide from north to south, and 39 15 square kilometers, including 3,477 square kilometers of plains, 328 square kilometers of water surface, 40 square kilometers of hills and mountains, and 4,650 square kilometers of urban waters.

The city is flat, with an average elevation of 3.7 meters (Wusong elevation), of which Xiuzhou District and northern Jiashan are the lowest, and its ground elevation is generally between 3.2 meters and 3.6 meters, and some lowlands are 2.8 meters to 3.0 meters. There are more than 200 hills in the city, scattered on the north bank of Hangzhou Bay in Qiantang River, with the elevation mostly below 200 meters. The highest point of the city is Gaoyang Mountain, which is located at the junction of Haiyan and Haining. The city is a shallow dish-shaped depression near Taihu Lake, and the terrain is generally inclined from southeast to northwest. In summer, flowers are usually orange-red, yellow or white. Pomegranate flower, as an ornamental variety, is deeply loved by people and is also cultivated in our city. Many courtyards, balconies and indoor desks are decorated with one or two pots of pomegranate flowers. When pomegranate is in full bloom, safflower burns like fire, which can bring people a kind of power to look forward to the future and make progress. The yellow and white flowers are simple, delicate and pleasing to the eye.
