The Hall of the Year of Prayer is supported by 28 Jin Sinan wooden pillars and divided into three floors:

1. Four inner rings symbolize the four seasons (Longjing column, 19.2m high, supporting the upper eaves; )

3. 12 The outermost circle represents 12 hours and Sunday stars (cornice column, supporting the third cornice).

Therefore, although the basic material of these three-layer columns is nanmu, the fine structure is different, and the thickness and diameter are also different. Moreover, the surface of the red primer is powder-plated, and the natural sound is different when knocking, and the sound is stuffy, which is still different from cement.

In fact, the real Hall of Prayer for the New Year was burned down by lightning in 1889 (the 15th year of Guangxu reign of Qing Dynasty). It is said that the big pillars in the hall at that time were all made of Daphne materials, and they could smell delicious for miles when burning.
