Which of the two solar terms, summer solstice and beginning of autumn, is more sultry?

The summer solstice is June 20th in the solar calendar, which is the longest day and the shortest night, but not necessarily the most sultry. Beginning of autumn solar calendar has more August, which is in late summer and early autumn. It's usually sultry at this time, and it's hard for me personally. For example, schools have summer holidays in August just to avoid the hottest period of the year.
