Ali in the sky, the secret realm of Puran
To the west of Tibet is Ngari, which is also paradise. It is said that Ali is the secret place of Tibet, and Napuran is the secret place of Ali.
Pulang County, under the Ali Prefecture, is located in the south of the Ali Prefecture, at the junction of China, Nepal, and India. It is 436 kilometers away from New Delhi, India, and 500 kilometers away from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Purang County is bounded by the Gangdise Mountains to the north and the Himalayas to the south. Such a remote and unique geographical location creates a secret place on earth. Blue skies and white clouds, deep lakes, and majestic snow-capped mountains are everywhere you look, and those who have been here will surely be enchanted by this secret realm.
There are famous holy mountains and holy lakes in Pulan. Here, we are all children of God.
In one sentence, the distribution of scenic spots in Pulan can be well described, that is, "two mountains sandwiched between two lakes." There is the sacred mountain Kailash in the north, Namunani peak in the south, and the holy lake Manasarovar and the ghost lake Laangtso sandwiched in between.
Although it is remote, the transportation in Ali area is relatively convenient. Many national highways pass through it, and the road conditions are also very good. Whether you are driving by yourself or taking a group tour, whether you are taking the Ali South Line or the Ali North Line, Pulan must be a must-visit place for everyone.
Along the G219 national highway, you can come from the direction of Lhasa and Shiquan River respectively. After driving into Pulan, you will be accompanied by Namunani Peak and Kailash. At the intersection of G219 and G564, drive towards G564 and you can reach Manasarovar Lake, Laangtso Lake and the foot of Namunani Peak, and finally reach Pulan County.
Kailash, with an altitude of 6656 meters, is the main peak of the Gangdise Mountains. It is a famous sacred mountain with titles such as "the first of the sacred mountains" and "the center of the world". Its peak is like a pyramid, rising high. Because there are no secondary peaks to accompany it, it looks a bit lonely and monotonous. Therefore, Kailash is not very beautiful among the many snow-capped mountains in Tibet, but the sacredness given to it by religious significance makes it famous at home and abroad.
If you want to reach the Prayer Flag Square at the foot of Mount Kailash, you need to purchase tickets. From the Tachin entrance to Prayer Flag Square, you can either walk or take a bus, the distance is about 7km. The most meaningful thing to do when visiting Kailash is probably mountain climbing. If you are not here to visit the mountains, but just want to see the mountains, then you can see them all the way on the G219 national highway, so there is no need to spend money to go in.
Namunani Peak is located in the western section of the Himalayas, with an altitude of 7,694 meters, far opposite Mount Kailash. Compared with Mount Kailash, Namunani Peak looks majestic and domineering. After all, the altitude is more than 1,000 meters higher, and the secondary peaks embrace each other continuously.
The most charming thing about Namunani Peak is that it is like a father, and the continuous mountains are like its arms, supporting the two children at the foot of the mountain, Manasarovar and La. Ang wrong.
Manasarovar Lake, together with Yamdrok Lake and Namtso Lake, are known as the three holy lakes in Tibet. It is nestled at the foot of Namunani Peak and surrounded by snow-capped mountains, making it look vast and majestic. On a clear day, the lake is blue, deep and quiet from a distance, but up close, the blue waves are rippling and crystal clear.
Laang Cuo, commonly known as "Ghost Lake", means "poisonous black lake" in Tibetan. The origin of the nickname is that La Ang Tso is a saltwater lake that is not drinkable by humans and animals. Although it is only separated from Manasarovar Lake by a road, there are indeed two completely different lakes, one is fresh water and the other is salt water; one lake has rippling blue water, and the other has deep blue water and calm waves; one is an angel and the other is a devil. Originally belonging to the same lake, under the influence of nature, they were abruptly divided into two, creating scenery with completely different styles.
