The Human Geography of Dayu Township

With beautiful natural environment, rich natural resources, glorious history and profound cultural heritage, it is the birthplace of the famous "Kunming people" and the cradle of Yunnan culture, and is also one of the advanced and developed areas in Yunnan. There is a 30,000-year-old "Kunming Man" site in Longtan Mountain. There is a Neolithic site in Shihe, 10,000 years ago. Shilong Temple with sea salt once hosted banquets for dignitaries and passers-by to watch the sea. There were "Yupu Cold Spring" in the old "Sixteen Scenes of Chenggong"-Xiaoyan Spring in Haiyan Village, Dragon Shrines and "Ancient Pavilion Hanging Rock"-Guanyin Pavilion in Shicheng; There are many valuable tourism resources, such as Dawan, with excellent conditions such as mountains, water, lakes, springs and products.

The town is rich in exploitable tourism resources, including Longtan Mountain, a famous cultural site of Kunming people, and three fishing grounds, Dahewan, Shilongwan and Dawan, are distributed along the coastline of Dianchi Lake. The cultural and natural landscapes such as Yupu Cold Spring, Guge Hanging Rock and Shenlong Temple in the old "Sixteen Scenery of Chenggong" are also in Dayu Township.

In the planning of modern new Kunming construction, Dayu area on the east bank of Dianchi Lake is the southern part of the future East City. Its development goal is a comprehensive area with the theme of medicine, residence and leisure in Yunnan, and a future leisure new capital of Kunming with the pillars of characteristic ecology, culture, tourism, development and utilization of medical products, high-quality residential areas and characteristic ecological industries. Five parks are planned to be built, namely, the wetland ecological park along the lake, the forest park, the central ecological park with fishing river, the theme park relying on Yunyao Port of Qixing Mountain, and the sports and leisure park interacting with Chenggong Airport.
