History of Xishan Rock in Tongan
Quanzhou suffered ten years of war at the end of Yuan Dynasty. According to the genealogy of the Shao family in Tongan, Shao Heng, the ancestor of the Shao family in Tongan, is famous for the word "scholar". Shao CuO from Jinjiang, with his younger brother and nephew, traveled to Ting, Zhang, Chao and Hui, passing through Tong 'an, and boarded the Western Hills. He deeply loved Shao Heng's idea of "embracing strangers and keeping his vitality", so he moved his family to Olive Ridge, now Ganling Village, at the foot of the west mountain, and became a farmer. During the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, Shao Gong, the second ancestor of the Shao family in Tongan, inherited his father's grand wish to "buy the Western Hills and restore the Tang Temple", and saved huge sums of money to buy most of the woodland where the Western Hills Rock Scenic Area was located. He recorded the matter in detail in his will made in the 29th year of Hongwu (A.D. 1396), and named himself "Xishan Gong".
During the Qianlong period, twenty-nine families, including Shao Qichun from Tongan Olive Ridge, moved to Taiwan Province Province to make a living and settled in Triple Slope (now Triple City in Taipei) to reproduce. Later, in 197 1, the Mountain Protection Palace was built in Mie City, offering a statue to protect the country and respect the king, which was protected by the ancestors of Xishan Mountain in Tong 'an more than 200 years ago, and became a temple with the highest incense in Taipei.
Since the mid-Qing Dynasty, Xishan Rock has experienced many dynasty changes, but under the careful care of Shao people and the bleak management of the abbot monks in the temple, there are dense forests, evergreen seasons, constant incense and long bells and drums in the temple. In modern times, the abbot of Chongfu Temple in Quanzhou and Miao Yue Zen Master (common name Shao Pi 'en, 1882- 1944) went to the dolomite in Xishan to give lectures for many times, and their Buddhism was profound and their martial arts were superb, which was once a much-told story. After liberation, according to the national forestry and religious policies, the ownership of Xishan Rock Woodland and the management of temples have maintained a century-old tradition and have not changed.
During the ten years of the Cultural Revolution, the ultra-left ideological trend flooded, the Buddhist shrine of dolomite temple was smashed, the bodhisattva was destroyed, the abbot and monk committed suicide by humiliation, and the mountain temple suffered unprecedented catastrophe. 1976 10 10 On 5 October, an improper dispute over the ownership of forest land occurred, which caused serious consequences under the hype of the ultra-left ideological trend and affected stability and unity.
In 1980s, the land in China was brought out of order, and the national religious policy and forestry policy were gradually implemented. With the full support of local Shao people and good men and women at home and abroad, the Buddha statue of Baiyun Temple was re-carved and the temple was repaired. After the judgment of Xiamen Intermediate People's Court 1984 and the re-authorization and certification of forest land by Tongan County People's Government, the ownership of some forest land changed during the Cultural Revolution was finally brought out of order, and the mountain boundary remained unchanged for 600 years. With the care and support of governments at all levels, great progress has been made in closing hillsides to facilitate afforestation and soil and water conservation in Xishan Mountain.
Nowadays, Sanqiu's laurel seeds, ten-mile pine trees, sea of clouds and jagged temples have become a charming scenery in the Western Hills. As stated in the Shanmen couplet: "A mountain is full of purple, and a thousand valleys of pine and cypress roll up auspicious clouds"; "Famous mountains are hidden in the Zen forest, and thousands of miles of pines smell the roar of lions; Resort suspected fairyland, Sanqiu Guibo accompanied by dragons "; "Clouds open in the east, converge in the east, Yanzuo Silver City is in the west, and Xiong Yue".
1April, 993, the Shao clan, who lived in Mie City, Taiwan Province Province, sent a delegation to their hometown for the first time to worship their ancestors, climbed the Western Hills, and entered Baiyun Temple and Gushan Palace ancestral hall to burn incense. 1994, the clan of Shaw in Taiwan Province Province donated NT$ 3 million, and together with the clan of Tong 'an, * * * raised nearly RMB 2 million to expand the narrow "Banshan Palace" into a temple complex with a building area of more than 560 square meters, and renamed it "Mountain Protection Palace" under the name of Triple City. This grand event fully embodies the inseparable geographical, ethnic, cultural and lucky chance ties of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and has left an indelible mark in the history of religious and cultural exchanges between Fujian and Taiwan. In the inscription "The Palace on the Mid-Mountain is Expanded to the Mountain Protection Palace", the author once wrote seven poems to sum up Ji's victory:
"A bloody lonely city has been half red, and Li's Kuangtang room has made outstanding achievements. Thousands of years ago, the righteousness of the righteous, the teeth of the yang, the eternal hurricane, and the righteousness of the people. The shadow of Xiyuetang is unparalleled, and the shadow of Dongying Zepei is triple. The craggy temple welcomes the sunrise, and the two sides are connected by one vein. "
Xishan Shishan covers an area of nearly three square kilometers, facing the Shiwan Mountain in Xiamen Island from north to south, with a similar scale. It is one of the rare tourism resources in the suburbs of Xiamen. The natural and cultural landscapes on the mountain, such as Xiyue Longquan, Ziyun Cave, Buddha's light shining, Fanta flying, lion watching the sun, double phoenix rising sun, arhat fragrance, assistant minister charm and Xinglin Spring Rain, are gradually being restored or planned.
In 200 1 year, with the support and guidance of the municipal construction Committee and other departments, the antique Shimen of Sanmen Cave stood at the east foot of Xishan Mountain. On the front of the mountain gate, Mr. Qi Gong, Chairman of China Calligraphers Association, inscribed the horizontal plaque of "Xishan Dolomite", which is romantic, solemn and elegant; Zhou Zhigao, a famous calligrapher, wrote the couplet "The mountain spring is full, and the weather swallows the spirit of the heron sea temple. The bell rang for thousands of years in the Tang Dynasty, with a powerful pen and extraordinary boldness of vision. The combination of lianwen and calligraphy adds a finishing touch to Xishan Rock, the "dragon head" of Tianlong Mountain.
