What are the types of soil in Jiaxing?

The soil quality in Jiaxing is type II soil.

Soil types for civil engineering earth and stone excavation are divided according to the hardness of the soil. The standard for dividing dry soil and wet soil is based on the groundwater level. Those above the groundwater level are dry soil, and those below the groundwater level are dry soil. It is wet soil. The soil used in construction earthworks is classified as follows:

1. Class I soil

Category I soil refers to sand, humus soil, etc.;

2. Class II soil

Category II soil refers to loess, soft saline soil and alkaline soil, loose and soft gravel, sand mixed with gravel and humus soil. The solidity coefficient of the first and second types of soil is low (0.5--0.8), and it can be excavated with a sharp shovel or a few picks.

3. Type III soil

Type III soil refers to clay or ice clay, heavy loam, coarse gravel, dry loess or loess with natural moisture content mixed with gravel, etc. The solidity coefficient is 0.81--1.0, and a sharp shovel and pickaxe must be used for excavation.

4. The fourth type of soil

The fourth type of soil refers to hard clay, heavy loam containing gravel, moraine clay containing boulders, mudstone, etc. The solidity coefficient reaches 1.0~1.5, and soil excavation must be carried out with a sharp shovel, pickaxe and crowbar at the same time.
