The secrets behind the divination and regulation of the Tomb of the Tang Dynasty
The Eighteen Tombs in Guanzhong refer to the eighteen imperial tombs of the Tang Dynasty. The first mausoleum of the Eighteen Tombs is the mausoleum dedicated to the founding emperor Li Yuan. However, compared with the Zhaoling Mausoleum of Taizong Li Shimin and Qianling Mausoleum, the joint burial mausoleum of Emperor Gaozong Li Zhi and Wu Zetian, not only the scale and momentum cannot be compared, but also it seems to have many shortcomings in terms of the essence of ancient Chinese Feng Shui treasure land.
Eighteen Tombs in Guanzhong
Historical records show that the Xianling Tomb was built by his son Li Shimin after Li Yuan's death. So, why did Li Shimin treat himself better than his father and carelessly handle the burial place of the founding emperor? Is he short-sighted? It is generally accepted by historians that Li Shimin forced Li Yuan to abdicate and seize the throne through the Xuanmen mutiny on June 4, the ninth year of Taketoku. Isn't this because he was afraid that his subjects would accuse him of being unfilial as a son and disrespectful to the emperor? Is there any mystery hidden inside?
Li Yuan's family was prominent before he became emperor
Li Yuan, the founder of the Tang Dynasty, was determined by virtue of force and virtue
In ancient times, people believed that those who could become emperor were not because their ancestors were buried. If you are in a geomantic treasure land and have the dragon vein, you have noble blood and extraordinary appearance, which is the so-called destiny of the emperor. The Li family is indeed prominent. According to the New Book of Tang Dynasty, The Chronicles of Gaozu: The great ancestor Shen Yao, the great sage Da Guangxiao, and the emperor Ba Yuan, whose courtesy name was Shude and whose surname was Li, were from Chengji, Longxi. His seventh generation ancestor Hao, at the end of the Jin Dynasty, conquered Qin and Liang and made himself king, and he became King Wuzhao of Liang.
The seventh generation Zu Hao here is Li Hao, the first emperor of the Xiliang Kingdom during the Sixteen Kingdoms period who appeared from the 4th to the 5th century AD. If we go back further, Li Hao's ancestor was Li Guang, a famous general who fought against the Huns during the period of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. It can be seen that the creation of the Tang Dynasty by the Li family did not happen in three days but turned into ice overnight. It was because of the dragon's genes. It was completely different from the sudden wealth style of the Han Dynasty with the surname Liu and the Ming Dynasty with the surname Zhu.
Before Li Yuan became emperor, he was not a commoner, but a hereditary Duke of Tang. He was left behind in Taiyuan. He was an important minister in the Sui Dynasty and won the favor and trust of Yang Guang, the profligate emperor. He went to Taiyuan. Appointed by Yang Guang himself. The Taiyuan area was the ancient Tang Kingdom during the Western Zhou Dynasty. This coincided with a kind of luck, which Yang Guang may not have thought of back then.
There is another reason for this, that is, Li Yuan and Yang Guang are cousins, that is, Yang Guang's mother is Li Yuan's aunt, and Li Yuan is a relative of the emperor. In the 6th century AD, there was a wealthy and aristocratic family whose owner was named Dugu Xin. Duguxin has three daughters who have married into wealthy families. The eldest daughter is the queen of Yu Wentai, the founding emperor of the Northern Dynasty and Ming Emperor; the seventh daughter is the queen of Yang Jian, the founding emperor of the Sui Dynasty and Emperor Wen; the fourth daughter is married to Li, the son of Li Hu, the Duke of the Tang Dynasty in the Northern Zhou Dynasty, and Li is Li Yuan's daughter-in-law. Father.
It is precisely because of this intricate kinship that the imperial power is constantly moving like drums and flowers, and is traded among the three families. It can be said that there is only one country, and the emperor takes turns. As the head of the state, Yang Jian made his seven-year-old grandson Yuwen Chan the emperor. The following year, he forced him to abdicate, proclaimed himself emperor on behalf of the Zhou Dynasty, and established the Sui Dynasty in February of the first year of Dading.
The divination master determined that Li Yuan's bones were extraordinary
Li Yuan was well versed in the way of taking the throne and was familiar with the mysteries. After Emperor Yang Guang of the Sui Dynasty was betrayed by Yu Wenhua and others and surrounded Jiangdu, In the thirteenth year of Daye, he took his sons Li Jiancheng, Li Shimin and others to invade Chang'an. They pretended to be loyal and pretended to be emperor. They made Yang Guang the emperor from afar and supported his aunt and nephew Yang You, who was only 3 years old, as emperor. In May of the following year, Yang was deposed. From the Tang Dynasty to the Sui Dynasty, the prosperous Tang Dynasty was born. In addition to serving as a stayer in Taiyuan, Li Yuan also served as the governor of Qiaozhou, Longzhou, Qizhou and other places. It is said that someone had predicted that Li Yuan would become emperor by looking at his face. Legend has it that at that time there was a man named Shi Shiliang who was proficient in the art of physiognomy. One day, after seeing Li Yuan, he was very surprised and told Li Yuan that your facial features are different from ordinary people and your bones are extraordinary. You are destined to be the emperor. After listening to Shi Shiliang's words, Li Yuan believed it to be true. From then on, he became energetic and wanted to make great achievements, which later came true. This matter is not credible, but the old book of the Tang Dynasty, The Benji of Gaozu, records: There was a good man in history, who was good at looking at people, and said to Gaozu: Gonggu Dharma is very special, he must be the master of others, he is willing to love himself, and do not forget his contemptuous words. Gaozu was quite conceited.
Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty killed the surname Li in vain to destroy the emperor's spirit
A dream in the south of the Yangtze River sighed his head, Emperor Yang of the Ming Dynasty Yang Guang, the ancestor of the Sui Dynasty
This legend, in By the end of the Sui Dynasty, it had spread in the court and among the people.
There is such a saying in Zizhi Tongjian and Emperor Yang. Nowadays, everyone says that the Yang family will be destroyed and the Li family will rise. At that time, a sorcerer who was good at reading astrology reported to Yang Guang that the Emperor's Qi had been discovered in the Longmen area and developed eastward from Longmen to the Taiyuan area. There are few emperors who are not superstitious, and Yang Guang is no different.
So he imitated Qin Shihuang's Ying Zheng's actions of patrolling Mount Tai in the east and digging the Qinhuai River into Fangshan Mountain to cut off the emperor's energy in the southeast. He also patrolled east and west several times. He also built a palace in Shanxi and allowed his true dragon body to appear in the ominous realm to suppress it. In the eleventh year of Daye, Yang Guang visited these places many times. Zizhi Tongjian records that in Jiyou, the emperor was lucky to travel to Taiyuan; in April of summer, he was lucky to stay in Fenyang Palace to escape the summer heat. Yang Guang's actions are not just for leisure, they have a strong purpose.
Later, another alchemist named Anjia came to Yang Guang, saying that Li would be the emperor, and persuaded Yang Guang to kill everyone with the surname Li in the world. How many people have the surname Li in the world? Since the area was not very specific, Yang Guang had no choice but to kill a thousand by mistake rather than let one go. He found reasons to get rid of the senior officials named Li who might pose a threat to him one by one. The first person to be executed was Li Hun's family, but they were killed by mistake.
The Li Hun family was the founding hero of the Sui Dynasty. At that time, he served as General Youxiaowei and held heavy military power. Yang Guangxian suspected that Li Hun's son Li Min had followed the prophecy and told him to commit suicide. Li Min was frightened half to death, so she went home to talk to her father about how to deal with it. A minister named Pei Renji found out about this and secretly reported that Li Hun was planning to rebel. As a result, Li Hun and 32 members of his clan were killed. Li Min's wife was also poisoned to death a few months later.
Later during the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty, some sorcerers also advised Li Shimin, saying that his harem would be replaced by the Wu family. Li Shimin followed the same method and killed all the Wu family members in the harem, but he missed the one who later became the emperor. The queen took away Wu Meiniang, the daughter of the Li family. Yang Guang also made a mistake and killed many officials named Li unjustly, but spared his aunt and uncle, and the most dangerous Li Yuan family.
Grandma Li Yuan’s face coincides with that of the Tang Dynasty
The speculated reasons are that firstly, Li Yuan was a low-key person at that time, and would tell Yang Guang secretly about others from time to time, and was regarded as a confidant by Yang Guang; secondly, they are relatives after all. . Furthermore, although the physiognomist said that Li Yuan had the appearance of an emperor, in the eyes of ordinary people, his appearance was unattractive, with wrinkles on his face, like an old woman. In Yang Guang's eyes, Li Yuan was indeed not an emperor, but just a Taiyuan stayer. It is said that once Yang Guang saw many wrinkles on Li Yuan's face and jokingly called him a grandma's face. For this reason, Li Yuan was unhappy. His wife, Mrs. Dou, asked about the whole story. She was secretly happy and told her husband that Yang Guang's words were still auspicious. Grandma's face was the head of the hall, and the hall was the Tang Dynasty. The Li family was hereditary as Tang Guogong, which meant that the Li family would make the decision and become the emperor. .
After hearing this explanation, Li Yuan no longer felt inferior to his wrinkled face. In fact, Yang Guang was wrong. The sea water cannot be measured, and people really cannot be judged by appearance. What's more, Li Yuan has sons like dragons and tigers like Li Jiancheng and Li Shimin? Judging from the historical experience in the political arena, there are often two types of people who are most dangerous, one is relatives and friends, and the other is the inconspicuous people around them. Li Yuan fulfilled these two requirements, but Yang Guang's plan to suppress the emperor's qi was in vain.
Son Li Shimin killed the princeling and usurped the throne
The legacy of Zhenguan will be passed down through the ages to Tang Taizong Li Shimin
What Li Yuan did not expect was that he learned the emperor's ways from Yang Jian Tao was also mastered by his son and second son Li Shimin. Fortunately, the world still has the surname Li, and the wealth has not flowed to outsiders. Through the Xuanwu Gate Mutiny, after Li Shimin killed all the princelings including Crown Prince Li Jiancheng and his fourth brother Qi King Li Yuanji, he obtained the legal successor status of the Tang Dynasty as he wished. He was established as the crown prince by Li Yuan and gained the actual power to govern. Seeing this situation, Li Yuan was forced to resign and become the Supreme Emperor. History books also record an incident. After Li Shimin was established as the new prince, an abnormal celestial phenomenon occurred. The Taibai star, which was regarded as mysterious by astrologers in ancient times, was very bright and could be observed in broad daylight.
There was also a solar eclipse that year, and the warlock believed that a new master would appear. Sure enough, in August of the ninth year of Wude, Li Yuan officially issued an edict that Zen should be placed on his son. The following year, Li Shimin changed the reign name to Zhenguan, and the rule of Zhenguan came from this.
The founding emperor of the Tang Dynasty was like a prisoner during his lifetime
As the founding emperor of the prosperous dynasty in ancient China, Li Yuan naturally made the greatest contribution. His sons have played their best. Without these tigers, there would be no Li family. But compared with Li Shimin's ability to govern, Li Yuan was obviously inferior and failed to thrive. Li Yuan became the Supreme Empress and still lived a leisurely imperial life in the eyes of outsiders. In fact, her freedom of life was strictly restricted inside. She moved to Hongyi Palace and was no different from a prisoner in custody. Regarding the records of the life of Emperor Li Yuan, the old Tang books contain more inscriptions than the New Tang books that were praised by later historians——
In May of the ninth year, Gengzi, Emperor Gaozu, issued an edict: After the funeral, the emperor It is appropriate to treat military and state affairs as other things. The weight and weight of the clothes are all based on the Han system, and the sun is changed to the moon. The garden and mausoleum system is based on frugality. On this day, he collapsed in the Chui Gong front hall of Tai'an Palace at the age of seventy. The ministers gave him the posthumous title of Emperor Dawu and the temple name of Gaozu. In October Gengyin, he was buried in Xianling.
What I want to explain here is that there are many doubts in the historians about the cause of Li Yuan's death. Some scholars believe that Li Shimin murdered him, and that it was an abnormal death, not a death from illness.
