After 19 years of painstaking efforts, it was built in seven years (1320), and the abbots such as Buddha, Sun and others were asked to name it "Yuantong Temple". Yuantong Temple in Yuan Dynasty has beautiful scenery, solemn hall, spectacular pavilions, rugged rocks, winding paths of waterside pavilions, stone steps, stone paths, stone bridges and stone fences, which are unique. History says that "there are fields, soups, houses, flowers, trees and bamboo, fruit and vegetable gardens, and there are reflections before and after"; It is not only a famous Buddhist temple, but also a quiet scenic spot. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was continuously repaired, and most of the existing temple buildings were in the Qing Dynasty. According to "Yunnan Tongzhi New Edition", this temple was rebuilt in Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty. In the seventh year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, Wu Sangui was expanded on a large scale, and the octagonal pavilion in front of the temple and the curved corridor around the waterside pavilion were rebuilt, and the archway of "Tong Yuan Scenic Area" was built, and the mountain gate was moved out of the streets hundreds of steps, which became today's scale. It was also repaired many times during the Republic of China. 1949 years later, the government allocated funds for reconstruction, and the temple took on a new look.
