Why do many people in The Journey to the West call him Kim?

The real protagonist in The Journey to the West is Tang Xuanzang. Tang Xuanzang played an important role in The Journey to the West. He is the core figure in Buddhist scriptures. At the same time, his background in The Journey to the West is also legendary. He is the reincarnation of the golden cicada. So what exactly is a golden cicada? What is this? His relationship with the Tathagata is unusual.

First, let's explain what a golden cicada is. If you often take a walk, you will get a positive result. It is very rare to make a golden cicada. When the Tathagata turned into a golden body, it was also swallowed by peacocks, King Daming and Bodhisattvas. The golden cicada has another meaning, that is, the golden cicada sheds its shell and symbolizes transformation. No wonder there is a saying in Journey to the West that eating Tang monk meat will lead to immortality.

Let's talk about the relationship between golden cicada and Tathagata. After being bound by the Tathagata, the golden cicada became the Tang priest. At this time, he was actually a monk, but when he was a golden cicada, his relationship with the Tathagata Buddha was unusual. He used to be a disciple of Tathagata.

When I was in Wuzhuangguan, Lu Yu and Zhen Yuanzi of Wuzhuangguan once said that he had met Jin, and Zhen Yuanzi went to Lanpen Society.

Jin Chan once passed on tea, so Zhenyuanzi called Tang Priest an old friend in The Journey to the West. Jin Chan is the second disciple of Tathagata. If we want to say why he was demoted to the lower world by the Tathagata Buddha, it is because when he was talking about Buddhism, Jin Chan didn't listen well below, either deserted or slept late. Later, the Buddha thought he despised Buddhism, so he lowered the lower bound.

However, if we look at this problem from another angle, we will find that, therefore, every cloud has a ray of light. If the Tathagata comes, he will be demoted to the lower bound, turned into a Tang Priest, began to learn Buddhist scriptures, and finally came to Lingshan to be named Buddha. This may have been planned by the Tathagata Buddha from the beginning. On the one hand, it is to promote Mahayana Buddhism better and more widely, and on the other hand, it is to promote the golden cicada to become a Buddha.

Tang Priest lived up to expectations, led four disciples through hardships and finally reached Lingshan, where he obtained Mahayana Buddhist scriptures.
