Rice, ramie, bamboo and mountain products of local residents are also traded here. Things bought by foreign merchants will be carried by local people, or transported to Liangkou market with simple tools such as bamboo rafts, and then loaded with boats at Liangkou Wharf and transported to Jiekou and Guangzhou.
Gongmen Market is the only market in the paper cave. At the beginning, business was booming and merchants gathered. The legend spread more and more widely, fewer and fewer people took advantage of it, and the Gongmen market gradually declined.
At this time, a rich man named Zhong, together with Hu and Luo, built a new market in a place called Xugangding, and built an official hall and a turtle temple.
