What is the experience of living in Chengdu | The self-report of an Anhui native who has lived in Hangzhou for nearly 10 years.

The article first appeared in Princess: EdithHonglovelife.

One day in February, while brushing watercress trends, a girl (clip) I followed posted a post with the general content that she wanted to interview friends who have/are living in Chengdu, Hangzhou or Dali and talk about their life experiences and feelings in these cities. I was very interested after reading it, and immediately left a message to explain my situation-I studied and lived in Hangzhou for nearly 10 years, and came to Chengdu to work and live at the end of last year. She quickly sent me a private letter, sent an interview outline, and determined the time for online communication.

Because this topic is very interesting, I made some preparations before the exchange. I not only listed the outline of what I wanted to share, but also interviewed two friends in Hangzhou to collect their feelings and experiences. It's very pleasant to communicate with 1 hour edited by neighbors. I am also inspired by this and want to share my intuitive experience and feelings about the city's food, clothing, housing and transportation after I came to Chengdu.

I share the following contents in three parts:

Introduction to the background of moving to Chengdu

Intuitive feelings of outsiders after living in Chengdu

Chengdu VS Hangzhou, which city do I like best?

I am a girl from a small town in northern Anhui. After the college entrance examination, I went to Hangzhou, a rich provincial capital city in the south, to study at the university. After studying and working here for nearly 10 years, 2 1 decided to leave Hangzhou with my boyfriend at the end of July to explore a new life in the southwest hinterland. 165438+1came to Chengdu at the end of October to work and live here.

Many people ask me why I left Hangzhou and chose to continue my development in Chengdu. There are two main reasons:

First of all, my boyfriend is from Neijiang, Sichuan. He told me at the beginning of his love that he would go back to Sichuan to develop in the future, so I have always been psychologically prepared to live in Chengdu. Plus, I have no intention of going back to my hometown for development after graduation, so I don't have too deep obsession about which city I must live in.

Secondly, housing prices in Hangzhou are really too high. Although I love this city very much, it is too expensive to buy a house here. Although Chengdu is also a provincial capital and a second-tier city, the house price is slightly lower, and it is close to my boyfriend's hometown, and the high-speed train takes 40 minutes. If you come to Chengdu to settle down, you will be at least close to your family and can be taken care of by some elders in your family.

I shared this decision in my circle of friends before going to Chengdu. Some people privately believe me that I am bold and can live so long away from home. Others may think that I am desperate for love.

But in fact, for me, this decision is neither hasty nor simply crazy about love. But after I met Mr. Peng, I thought about it every year, and finally made a decision that was most in line with my heart and mature according to factors such as real life, work and mentality changes.

202 111February 21I took the high-speed train for nearly 8 hours and came to Chengdu from my hometown in Anhui. 165438+1report to the new company on October 23rd. 65438+February 65438+February, I moved to my favorite new house. Up to now, I have lived and worked in this city for nearly 4 months.

From the initial strangeness to the gradual adaptation now. In the process of actively and slowly exploring the surrounding area, I always consciously or unconsciously feel and experience this brand-new city with a "look" and comparative perspective.

I listed all these feelings and understandings and shared them with you.

clothing, food, shelter and means of traveling

Food paradise is well-deserved, and the catering industry is not good enough.

After a few meals in Chengdu, I realized that Hangzhou is really a gourmet desert, and the contrast is too obvious. Finally, I can understand that when we had dinner together, I thought it was delicious. Teacher Peng always said it was just so-so, not bad. His mouth has long been spoiled by Sichuan food.

Starting from breakfast, Chengdu hangs Hangzhou, and there are many choices. You can eat 1 week noodles without repeating the sample. Even ordinary fast food at noon tastes different.

In addition to the world-famous mala Tang, there are all kinds of themed hot pots: mutton hot pot (not spicy and light), rabbit hot pot (although rabbit meat is cute, the meat is really delicious), fish head hot pot, frog hot pot (my boyfriend loves this) and so on.

There are many restaurants, and there is one every few hundred meters near the ordinary community. And many restaurants are opened together, forming a food street. Usually eat, there are many choices. But at the same time, it is also fierce competition from businesses. It's hard to open because it tastes bad.

And I really want to clear my name for Sichuan cuisine! The biggest feature of this cuisine is spicy, please note that it is spicy before hemp. So friends from other places, don't think red soup is very spicy when you see it, but it's not so spicy when you eat it. In addition, many Sichuan dishes will put sugar to neutralize the spicy taste.

Sichuanese don't eat spicy food every day in their daily diet, and their stomachs are not made of iron. Light and delicious dishes will become the first choice for many people. There is a big vegetable market near the community where I live now. I love shopping. You can see many local fresh vegetables, all kinds of spices and lo mei. Among vegetables, I like lettuce, pea tips and rape blossoms best.

Lettuce is a vegetable I eat every day in my hometown of Anhui and Hangzhou, but people in these two places basically do not eat lettuce leaves. I haven't eaten before. Since I went to Neijiang and tasted the delicious noodles, I like to use it to stir-fry and put it in soup or noodles.

Pea tip, which has never been eaten in my hometown and Hangzhou, began to eat after I came to Chengdu. It's the first time to eat it, and it's a side dish of mutton hot pot. If I put it in the soup for a while and then take it out, it will become delicious, fresh and tender. Then I slowly unlock other ways to eat: cold salad, stir-fry and soup.

Rapeseed, I always thought I couldn't eat it, just watching+squeezing oil. But after coming here, I have obviously increased my knowledge. There are two kinds of rape flowers here. One is my common yellow flower with green stems. In spring, girls like to take pictures in the rape fields with flowers in full bloom. One is something I have never seen before. The stems are purplish. Both kinds of rape flowers can be eaten. Before flowering, when the stems are still tender, it is most suitable for cooking or making soup, which is extremely delicious.

Now every weekend, in addition to cooking at home, we will go out to a restaurant for a meal, actively explore the surrounding food, and try our best to ensure that the dishes are different. In Chengdu, the pleasure of eating is infinitely magnified.

clothing, food, shelter and means of traveling

Renting a house is very cost-effective and happiness is greatly improved.

Maybe I grew up in the northern countryside. Although the home decoration is not so good, there is always a lot of space. Every family has its own small yard, so I have always been obsessed with the living area. The room is so small that I can hardly stand it and feel wronged. There are also requirements for the orientation of the room. I am very eager for sunshine. I want to choose a room facing south. In the five years of renting a house in Hangzhou, it has never been realized. In fact, I still have too little money and ask too much. My boyfriend always says I'm too picky.

But after coming to Chengdu, the above requirements have basically been realized! At the same price, the living area is three times more than before. And the room type is very good, and all the rooms face south. The most important thing is to have an oversized balcony! Finally, I can rest assured that bask in the quilt can raise her favorite flowers and plants!

On a sunny day, the sun shines into the bedroom, living room, kitchen and laundry room, casting shadows of all kinds of light. The illuminated place sparkles. At these moments, I am always happy and satisfied, and feel that life is really beautiful.

I visited the flower shop online, bought my favorite potted plants online, and slowly built my own small garden on the balcony. Don't worry about buying too much anymore. I planted strawberries, tulips and lilies of the valley for the first time, bought seeds of chicken feathers, parsley and onions, buried garlic and peas in the soil, and looked forward to eating my own vegetables. After work every day, it is really a pleasure to see their growth, water them, take photos to record their growth and share them with friends with the same hobbies.

Now, there are fewer and fewer tense nerves, and most of the time I am stretched and relaxed.

A trip of food, clothing, housing and transportation

Underground transportation is relatively developed, and enough subway lines have been opened (13), basically forming a network diagram extending in all directions. It is convenient to commute by subway, and the commuting time is nearly 20 minutes less than that in Hangzhou.

But the ground transportation culture is not very good. Disorderly parking, motor vehicles occupying non-motor vehicle lanes and crosswalks are serious. Many drivers turn left and right without turning the turn signal. Most buses have no separate parking area, so passengers should pay special attention to passing vehicles when getting on and off.

Two-wheeled motorcycle delivery, commercial manned, and three-wheeled electric vehicle commercial manned are a beautiful landscape in Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan. I have seen it not only in Chengdu, but also in Neijiang and Guiyang.

These big brothers and grandfathers who drive will pick up passengers at subway stations, bus stations and other places with heavy traffic. Tricycle, we used to have it in my hometown. I used to ride it in high school. However, in recent years, it has been managed by the transportation department, and it has become more and more convenient to take a taxi, which is basically invisible. I had never seen it when I lived in Hangzhou. In the second round, we have never seen it in our hometown and Hangzhou, and it is very common here. But I haven't experienced it yet. I feel a little dangerous. I don't know where he will take you.

Weather, scenery, dialects and so on.

Weather:

The relative lack of sunshine is a common feature of southern weather. There are many cloudy days and thick clouds here in Chengdu. Even on sunny days, the sky blue is not obvious, and it has always been white. But to my delight, it seldom rains. The weather forecast often doesn't rain, unlike Hangzhou, which may rain at any time and can't stop.

Scenery:

In late autumn, ginkgo trees in Huang Cancan are distributed on both sides of the road, which is particularly beautiful. You don't have to go anywhere to enjoy ginkgo biloba. When you walk on the road, you can enjoy them at any time.

The place where we live now (southwest) is far from the famous scenic spots in Chengdu (northeast). It's not easy to go there. So many scenic spots haven't been visited yet.

Last weekend, I went to the Botanical Garden for an outing and took the subway for three hours. Climbing a mountain is not easy. It's basically outside the city, starting at 30 kilometers. When I was in Hangzhou, it was very convenient to go to Xixi Wetland, West Lake Scenic Area and climb mountains because I lived in West Lake District all the time. So this has always been difficult for me who loves nature. I often chat with Mr. Peng and miss climbing mountains and visiting the West Lake in Hangzhou.

But among the several scenic spots I have been to, some places are very eye-catching and have been highly praised by me: the Science and Technology Museum has done a great job, and it is very interactive and interesting.

At the beginning of February last year, at 65438, Teacher Peng took me to see the giant panda. We went to Chengdu Giant Panda Research Base in the city. The play experience is great. Not only did I observe many giant pandas eating bamboo, sleeping, drinking water, staring blankly and climbing trees at close range, but I also gained a lot of knowledge in the popular science museum at the base. For example, the weight can be guessed from the feces of giant pandas, and what giant pandas can eat besides bamboo. There are also various ways of interaction: you can see the popular science pamphlet by turning the page by hand, and you can hear the panda's cry by choosing the pattern.

In the botanical garden I visited in early March this year, the popular science features in the park can be seen everywhere. Almost all the trees you see have names. For example, there are many varieties of camellia, and a small sign is hung on each tea tree to tell you the specific variety name, family and genus.

The Youth Science Museum is full of dry goods and has designed many ways to interact with visitors, which is very friendly to people who love plants and want to know more information! You can learn a lot of new knowledge by walking around carefully.

Dialect:

People here love to speak Sichuan dialect. Not only in life, but also at work, colleagues and customers often chat and start speaking dialects, which surprised me at first. Before I came, I thought Sichuan dialect was easy to understand. When I came, I found that I was too naive and could only understand 70% to 80%. If the topic is unfamiliar to you, it is even more difficult to understand.

This is rare in Hangzhou. Everyone basically speaks Mandarin, and a few locals sometimes ostentatiously speak Hangzhou dialect, but only if the other person is from Hangzhou. So I heard a lot at first, and it was really big. Now I'm better, I can only adapt myself constantly, and it's also excellent to learn a new dialect.

Others:

There are many high-rise buildings in residential areas, and Sichuan is an earthquake-prone area. My boyfriend and I are worried. In case of an earthquake, will it be dangerous for us to live in a tall building? Or there is a sudden problem with the elevator in the community, how to ensure personal safety?

And because of the shelter of the building, I haven't seen the sunset for a long time, and it is still a complete sunset. When I was in Hangzhou, the rooftop of my home was always a holy place for me to observe and record clouds. Therefore, this behavior of collecting clouds and sunsets is crazy, and it is inevitable that it will not adapt.

Summary:

Generally speaking, living and working in Chengdu is relatively easy to adapt to. Moreover, after major issues such as work and housing are solved better, other things are not problems. There are many assembly lines in first-and second-tier cities, and there is little difference in infrastructure. It has adapted to Hangzhou and can be reused in Chengdu.

Each has its own advantages and disadvantages, and they are all important places in my life.

After living in Chengdu, I always unconsciously compare it with Hangzhou in all aspects. Occasionally I miss my uncle's steamed eggs and tea tree mushroom duck. Friends in Hangzhou will share the dynamics of visiting the West Lake, climbing mountains and visiting Xixi Wetland in the circle of friends, and they will miss these places. I also plan to revisit my hometown with Mr. Peng in the next 1-2 years.

I suddenly remembered my last day in Hangzhou. At that time, my mood was extremely calm and there was nothing to give up. I just went to the rooftop to watch the last sunset in Hangzhou as usual. When the train left Hangzhou, I had more expectations for life in Chengdu. However, in the next period of time, memento mori will still occasionally come to mind, leaving some traces of missing.

Yes, even after I leave, I still love Hangzhou deeply. After all, after living in this city for so long, I have left many good memories with some close friends.

I miss the civilized etiquette of zebra crossing to give way to pedestrians, buses and bicycles with special lanes. I miss going to the West Lake and Xixi Wetland all year round to feel the beauty of seasonal changes. Miss those friends who are in close contact and chat with me. I miss the tiger running after work and the quiet scenery on Santai Mountain Road. But I don't miss the high housing price, the exploitation of the landlord and the bad weather.

Since I choose Chengdu, I will live in a stable city for the next 10 and 20 years. Then go ahead and discover the beauty of this city. Instead of always looking back, immersed in the past, or regretting the decision you made.

And I don't think I will spend the rest of my life in Chengdu. I prefer to gradually have the ability to live a good life in any city.

I have a wish, and as I grow older, this wish becomes stronger and stronger. I really want to move to a sunny and suitable town with Mr. Peng after retirement (about 50 years old). Plant flowers and grass, open a Buddhist flower shop, and continue to write articles and accompany him for a walk to eat delicious food in the rest of the time.

The world is very big, why not print your footprints in more places in your limited life?
