The Hami Sea Channel is a place that doesn’t look like the earth.

Haidao, just like Xinjiang, its name gives people a rough feeling. Hami’s Haidao was once one of the important passages of the ancient Silk Road. The Silk Road, as the channel that communicated between Chinese and Western civilizations in ancient times, has always attracted the attention of academic circles because of its huge role in the history of human civilization exchanges. The Great Sea Channel has always been shrouded in mystery, but few people know about it. Even many people in Xinjiang have never heard of it.

However, it is extremely dry here, with no grass growing. It is like entering Mars. The weather is very harsh with sand and rocks flying all the time, which makes people despair. Moreover, we often encountered bandits who blocked the road. In the later period, Hami was the main route for the Silk Road.

Haidao belongs to the plain and hilly area, which is the area with the widest distribution of stone Gobi in my country. To the north of the sea channel is the East Tianshan Mountains, which are about 4,000 meters high. The terrain here is high, the temperature is low, and the air pressure is high. The location of the sea channel is just below the Baili wind zone of Hami Shisanjianfang. The altitude here is about 200 meters, the terrain is low, there is no vegetation on the surface, and the temperature is extremely high, so a high temperature and low pressure area will inevitably form here. . The huge air pressure difference between the two places creates strong air currents. Therefore, storms and violent sand often blow in the sea channel area, and these exposed sand and rock layers are constantly polished, thus forming such a spectacular Yadan landform.

Please drive an off-road vehicle and please travel with 2 or more vehicles.

Please prepare enough supplies, especially water, food and clothing.

Check the weather forecast in advance.

Please bring GPS positioning, there must be no mobile phone signal inside.

It’s best to have a full tank of gas and bring some extra.
