Dear experts, I would like to ask how do you see the eye grit of pigeons? It’s best to have pictures for comparison!
1. What kind of eye sand is suitable for homing pigeons or long-distance racing?
Pigeon eyes: oval pupils, well-defined gradient shapes, uniform surface sand and transparent bottom, bright colors, bright and clear like a condor, suitable for short-distance competitions. (The sand is heavy and solid, the eyes are broad, and the colors are unusually rich. The chest is wide, the tail is short, the wings are long and triangular, the chest muscles are as plump as tendons, and the legs are not high).
Among the winning pigeons in the international pigeon competition, pigeons with light sand eyes account for the majority.
2. What kind of eye sand is suitable for pigeons in ultra-long-distance racing?
Pigeon eyes: black pupils, retractable and open regardless of light limit, wide, rough and zigzag-shaped inner ring, full of clear sand, large particles, red and black inside, sharp eyesight, quick response, suitable for ultra-long-distance competitions . (Medium to large body shape)
This sand type is often seen among the winning pigeons in previous ultra-long-distance pigeon competitions in Shanghai, my country.
Homing pigeon eyes can be divided into three categories (yellow eyes, sand eyes, black eyes) and ten sand types (red sand, yellow sand, pink sand, cloud sand, oil sand, blood sand...), each with its own characteristics Each has its own characteristics.
Combinations of homing pigeon’s eye tips (six groups)
1. Torch red sand:
There is green sand around the pupil, and yellow sand accounts for the main component. The sand is occupied by red sand, which is suitable for flying on sunny days.
Yellow-bottom floating red sand: The bottom sand is yellow, and the top sand is slightly fluttering red sand. It is suitable for flying in low light and cloudy days.
2. Pink sand: There is a base of white clouds around the pupils, and the face is pink, suitable for flying on cloudy days.
Cloud sand: There is a gray circle around the pupil, white cloud base, and pink sand on the surface, suitable for flying in dark weather.
3. Earthy red sand: Yellow sand and red sand are evenly matched, suitable for flying in strong light and cloudy days. Cloud peach red sand: This type of sand is located between cloud sand and peach red sand, and is suitable for flying on cloudy days.
4. Coarse red sand: slightly yellowish bottom, thick and thick dark red veil, suitable for flying in strong light weather.
Yellow-bottomed red sand: The bottom sand is yellow, the top sand is red, half yellow and red, suitable for flying in strong light weather.
5. Blue Water Purple Peach Blossom Sand: The bottom of the eye sand is blue and the top sand is purple-red, suitable for flying on cloudy days.
Jiang sand: a brown sand type composed of yellow, red and black. The bottom sand is golden and shiny, the top sand is dark brown, and the pupil line is black. It is an all-weather sand type.
6. Red sand: Both the bottom sand and the top sand are mainly composed of red sand, which is suitable for flying in strong light weather.
Purple Clay: The entire eye area is occupied by Purple Clay, which has a considerable flying height and belongs to the high-flying pigeon tip type.
There is no fixed pattern for the interaction between homing pigeons and pigeons. It varies from person to person. Famous pigeons, prize-winning pigeons, and fast pigeons should be selected as breeding pigeons to pair with each other (before pairing, the pros and cons must be weighed, and each other should learn from each other's strengths and weaknesses) , use the flying competition method to determine the winning pigeons as breeding pigeons, and then perform blood regeneration.
There are many reasons for the speed of pigeons returning home. We humans cannot predict the situation of pigeons flying outside. Only when the pigeons themselves meet the conditions for returning home can they hope to return home. I personally think that three points are unified, orientation + speed + luck = performance (when the pigeons are released in a different place, the bloodline will not play a role, it is only for reference).
