Talk about the weather generally in the following three contexts.

A simple greeting;

To start a conversation, break the silence, and bring up other topics;

Used to use it once an embarrassing situation arises or other topics are difficult to continue. "To pass the time", "to fill the embarrassment" or "to shift the focus".
