Brief introduction of Wang Si
"Everyone is familiar with Bazi Mountain, but few people know that its real name is Wang Si." Yang Xinhua, deputy director of Nanjing Cultural Relics Bureau, and others revealed in the book Nanjing Landscape City Forest. According to the third volume of Tongzhi Shangjiang County Records: "I will never see the mountain when I taste it with the immortal Ge Yuan (Xuan), so I named it Guanlan." With the change of time, Wang Si's history and important military significance are gradually forgotten by the world.
In fact, Wang Si is an important military location in Nanjing. "Mountain Records of Shicheng" said: "There are four looking mountains in Jinling, all made of red stones, and Fu Gang worships dragons as a barrier to the great river, hence the name Stone. Therefore, it is an important strategic defensive position in Nanjing. Mr. Li Lao, a retired cadre who lives nearby, still remembers that many bunkers and hiding holes left on the mountain are said to have been built by Kuomintang troops. Li Lao gave evidence that Wang Si-shan was compared to a "great river barrier" in Shicheng Mountain Records, and dealing with the enemy according to the favorable terrain of this mountain was almost the only choice for the former army to defend Nanjing. On the mountainside of Wang Si, you can also see several bunkers left by the Nanjing Defence War.
With the advancement of the renovation project of Siwangshan Park, three "hidden" bunkers in the mountains were exposed. The bunker was built on the mountain, and the loophole in the mountainside bunker pointed directly at Xiaotaoyuan area. Further on the mountain, there are two bunkers. Unfortunately, the gun holes of these two bunkers have been sealed with cement. Outside the exit of a bunker, there is a rare stone bunker. The array layout of the three bunkers echoing each other from afar still makes people sigh. What's more, experts and almost all the old people around have confirmed that Wang Si is "hollow". In the mountainside, there are many hidden soldier caves dug in those days, and the passages inside are very mysterious. The bunker shows that the bunker and the bunker are connected and can walk around each other.
Many people know that there is a bunker on Wang Si Mountain, but not many people can tell their specific life stories clearly. Ji, a cultural relic expert, said that the bunker group on the mountain should have been built during the Republic of China. Like Yuhuatai, Guanghuamen and Zijinshan, it is an important node in the defense of Nanjing. Ji Lao said that although the bunker is not listed as a cultural relic, it represents a story and has historical research value. The bunker group has also attracted the attention of the construction unit. The person in charge of the Gulou District Construction Bureau made it clear that in the environmental improvement of Wangsishan, the bunker group will be protected in situ and become a new park landscape.
