What are the climatic characteristics of Kashgar?
Kashgar has abundant sunshine, frost-free period of about 220d, annual effective accumulated temperature of 4200℃ d, and large temperature difference between day and night, which is suitable for the growth of cash crops such as grain, cotton, melon and fruit. It can be divided into five climatic zones: ① Kashgar Plain climatic zone. Including the vast alluvial plain in northern and central Kashgar, the annual average temperature is11.4℃ ~11.7℃. ② Desert climate area. Including southern Bachu, eastern Mohammad and northeastern Yecheng, it belongs to Taklimakan Desert. The continental climate is extremely remarkable, with the annual average temperature above 1 1℃ and the annual precipitation below 40mm. ③ Mountainous and hilly climate zone. The annual average temperature is below 5℃. ⑤ Kunlun Mountain climate zone. It mainly includes the south of Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County and the south of Yecheng County. The annual average temperature is below 5℃, the mountain peaks are covered with snow all year round, and the climate is very cold, which can be divided into cold and warm seasons.
