Stories and legends of the Confucius Temple in Jiading
In the Ming Dynasty, a peach and plum garden was opened in the east of Confucius Temple, and it was required to build a garden. At Chengjiangmen (now the south gate of Jiading Town) about half a mile in front of Confucius Temple, there are pavilions such as Lujufang, Wenlaiju and Zhongfangting. Liu Guang Zen Temple, built in the heyday of the Northern Song Dynasty, is not conducive to the geomantic omen of Confucius Temple and exams. So in the Tianshun period, the county ordered to dig mounds to block the temple, so it was named Yingkui Mountain. Then a big pool was dug to lead five waterways near the Confucius Temple to the front of the temple. Yingkui Mountain is located in the middle of the pool, surrounded by green water, and is known as the five dragons holding pearls. This is the 400-year-old Huilongtan, which was carved in the 16th year of Wanli (AD 1588).
On the east side of Danghu Academy, 1682 built a new stele gallery along the river to display Huang Tingjian in Song Dynasty; Shen Zhou, Wen Weiming and Dong Qichang in the Ming Dynasty; In the Qing Dynasty, there are the same excerpts from mourning and learning, and there are precious ink and stone carvings of four gentlemen in Jiading, such as Tang, Lou Jian, Li and Cheng Jiasui.
