Which great god can help me write a travel note? The theme is the journey of Krabi. The number of words is controlled at about 800~900 words.
Set out for a long journey
"Travel", travel to distant places. This word is an elusive thing for some people. Living in a big city, the pace of life is fast, and I am under various pressures of work, study and life. Rarely can I take my luggage so easily and drive to a place far away from home for leisure. I live in Thailand now, which coincides with the school holiday. If we want to travel far, the seaside is our best choice.
My first feeling when I travel far away is that the journey is long, and it is a long journey in Xiu Yuan. We drove from the capital Bangkok to Krabi town in southern Thailand, 800 kilometers away. When I watched the remaining distance on the navigator in front of the car slowly decrease, from 800 km to 400 km, 100 km, and finally to a few hundred meters, I gradually felt a sense of accomplishment and really realized that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Although we were all exhausted after getting off the bus and arriving at the hotel, we experienced the first stage of a long journey.
The second feeling I got from traveling far away was that I was far away from the city. Usually when people go out for a long trip, they will go to a rural town far away from the bustling city, the endless Mongolian grassland, or the primitive island surrounded by the sea. The destination we chose this time is Lanta Island, an unknown "Xanadu". It is especially popular in the peak season, and many westerners go there for leisure. But after the off-season, some restaurants there are closed, and few tourists go to the island, only occasionally some small speedboats and cargo ships pass by. When we went there, it happened to be the off-season, and we only saw some westerners visiting there sporadically. But the advantage is that there is no one on the beach, you can pick up shells and swim at will, watch the ebb and flow of the tide every day, listen to the wind and watch the rain, and feel particularly free. The sea there is also crystal clear, and you can clearly see small fish swimming under the bottom of the water and under the snow-white beach. Another advantage of being far away from the city is the fresh air. There are many trees on the island. The island is full of forests, rivers and mountains, and only a few small towns are scattered among them.
The third feeling I get from traveling far away is the surrounding scenery. People often say that the scenery is on the road. The biggest advantage of driving far away is that you can see the surrounding scenery when you are in the car. With our progress, great changes have taken place in the surrounding terrain. Sometimes driving through a path in the forest is surrounded by steep peaks and pale white and straight trees, which makes people relaxed and happy. From time to time, there are little monkeys sitting on the roadside, and small snakes can be seen running wildly on the road and birds flying in the sky, which shows that people there have not destroyed the living environment of wild animals on a large scale. Sometimes, you drive a ferry and look at the blue sea next to you. The sea breeze blows slowly and there is a smell of the sea in the middle. Standing on the deck watching the sea is also a pleasure. Sometimes along the highway, the highway extends all the way to the horizon, undulating with the terrain like waves. There are green trees and red flowers on both sides of the road, and blue sky and white clouds overhead. When we first set out, it was a plain with complicated rivers and no mountains around. Further south, we can see many steep peaks, and the mountains are surrounded by vertical cliffs, which is chilling. These mountains go further and further. When we finally reached our destination, there were not only mountains, but also the vast white sea.
Traveling far is a very enjoyable thing. It is very interesting to travel to a distant place that you have never been before. No wonder many hikers or backpackers travel far away. Now I can only travel with my father. When I grow up, I will travel far and experience their lives alone.
Sea phobia
Going to sea should be a must for all those who go to the seaside. Some people like to take a relatively smooth ferry, while others like to take a speedboat that is advancing rapidly at sea. And I am the kind of person who likes to take a speedboat. I used to think it was fun and exciting when I took the speedboat, but a speedboat trip the other day completely subverted my impression of the speedboat.
When we arrive in Krabi, the first thing to do is to arrange time to go out to sea and play on a nearby island. It's a pity that people are not as good as the sky, and the rain after our reservation has been endless, so the first day of sailing was cancelled. All we do is pick up shells on the beach and eat and sleep in hotels. Absolutely boring. We sincerely pray that Wan Li will be clear tomorrow and the trip will not be cancelled again. The next day, we finally went out to sea, but there were still some dark clouds floating in the sky, and we didn't care at that time. I like the bumpy process of the speedboat, and we are riding a big speedboat with three engines, so there should be no problem. So I got on the boat and sat in the front of the boat first.
We set out. It wasn't very bumpy at first, but then the waves got bigger and bigger. Sometimes we seem to be thrown into the air, and our stomachs are very uncomfortable. At this time, the guide came to the bow and immediately let us enter the middle of the cabin. Although I got on the boat, I still felt that the boat was hit by the waves again and again. Every time the speedboat meets a wave, we feel that we are about to fly. When we landed in the seat, we felt that all the organs of our body had shifted, especially my spine. I feel that every bone is scattered and closed again. If we sit in the bow, we may really be thrown into the sea. Although I was not afraid at that time, I was still jumpy. I clung to the railing next to me so that it wouldn't be so high. This tour guide seems to be a quack. Although the hull fluctuated, he stood firmly beside the driver, staring at the front with a solemn face and talking to the driver in a low voice. The waves ahead are getting bigger and bigger, and the speedboat is getting bumpy. With the scream of the whole ship, it fell from the top of the wave to the trough again and again. Suddenly it began to rain cats and dogs. The wind rushed into the cabin with water droplets and hit me in the face like an arrow. I couldn't open my eyes. We are in the cabin and can't see outside, but I think it must be a huge wave. Our clothes, which had been soaked by water drops, immediately became wet, and the sea breeze kept blowing like us, and soon our whole body was shaking. In order not to catch a cold, we took out the towel originally prepared in the bag and put it on. It was originally intended for the seaside, but now it seems that we don't need it. After walking several hundred meters in the wind and rain, we arrived at an island. At this time, the tour guide said a few words to the driver and turned to tell us that the waves ahead were too big and dangerous. Today's trip was cancelled. If possible, come back in a few days. Then the driver circled the island and we went back.
I didn't feel so bumpy when I went back. I observed that we were drifting with the tide, and the driver had been sailing behind a wave, so it went well. It seems that sailing is really skillful. Even so, some tourists on board began to vomit, and the tour guide quickly sent vomit bags and mineral water. After about five minutes, a foreigner may be afraid, stand up, hold the post next to him and find the tour guide. He asked in English, "When can I go back?" The tour guide said it would arrive in about five minutes. The foreigner finally returned to his seat and waited for his return. The people sitting next to me were relieved when they heard this.
When getting off the boat at the dock, it was thrilling to recall the speedboat I just took. Although I told my father later that I wanted to take a speedboat again tomorrow, I thought it was too dangerous. Maybe next time. When I got back to the hotel, I felt very tired, my bones fell apart, I was soaked to the skin and sneezed for a while. I've never been so embarrassed. I took a hot bath, hid in the quilt, thought about the whole process of going to sea, and still felt scared. In the stormy waves, a person and a ship are so small that they may capsize at any time and be swallowed up by the sea. In the next few days, although there will be sunny weather, we will never go out to sea again. Who knows if the weather will suddenly change?
Later, when we returned to Bangkok, we saw news reports that a China tourist was killed by a propeller in Phi Phi Phi Island because of the heavy waves. A cargo ship sank in the waters near Phuket because of the heavy waves, and several people were missing. It seems that the off-season is really not suitable for going to the beach. Let's wait for the peak season to take a speedboat next time, when the sea will be much milder than it is now.
Explore in the rain
Krabi Prefecture in southern Thailand is called "Emerald of Andaman Sea". There are not only silvery white beaches, light blue waters, dotted outlying islands, but also Riley Beach, a rock climbing mecca. Inland there are lush tropical rain forests, criss-crossing rivers and spectacular limestone caves. Most of them have maintained their natural qualities and have not been eroded by human beings. After I arrived in Krabi, I couldn't go out to sea because of rainy days, which also left me the opportunity to browse mangroves and limestone caves by canoe. I used to go boating. I have been on almost all kinds of boats except kayaking. Without saying anything, I promised to book KAYATING's trip the next day.
The next day, it was still cloudy. Dark clouds covered the sun, and it was cloudy. Although we don't have to worry about the sun tanning us, we don't know when it will rain cats and dogs and drench us. Sure enough, two minutes before we boarded the ship, raindrops began to fall on us. I didn't care at first, thinking that I couldn't stop for a while. I canoed with my father and competed with my peers in rowing. However, it rained harder and harder, and the raindrops as big as beans fell one after another, and we were soaked in the blink of an eye. In fact, getting wet in the rain is also a very enjoyable thing. When raindrops hit you, it feels like being gently massaged. The warm weather in southern Thailand makes people feel a little cold, but it is very cool and comfortable. On both sides of the river are lush mangroves, with thick roots deeply rooted in the river and steep cliffs in the distance. Coupled with the rain, raindrops splashed on the river, and the surrounding mountains were covered with a layer of mist, which added a bit of mystery, as if marching in a fairyland.
We continued to row in the rain and arrived at the first cave. This cave was originally half submerged by seawater tens of thousands of years ago, and fossils of shells can still be seen in the cave. Now the sea has receded and turned into a river. Thousands of years ago, fishermen who fished were tired and rested here. He left many murals in the cave, the oldest of which was two thousand years ago, and it is one of the earliest rock paintings in Thailand. That mural looks inhuman and ghostly. I have never figured out what kind of creature it is. Finally, I feel that murals are most like seahorses. Perhaps the fishermen at that time salvaged a seahorse, but they had never seen this strange marine life before, so they recorded it in the form of murals. I think this is the most reasonable explanation. Further inside, there are more murals, and the walls on the farthest side of the cave are all original murals. Most of the murals are about the life of fishermen at that time, which makes us tourists who have passed thousands of years restore our original life in our minds again.
Out of the cave, we continued to paddle to the second cave. The second cave is a huge cave. The erosion of the sea hollowed out the foot of the mountain. The river passes through a cave at the foot of the mountain. We can row from one side of the mountain to the other. There is a lot of stone emulsion in this cave, which is still dripping. Although my clothes are wet, I still paddle around to avoid these drops of water. There are stone clocks and milk in different shapes in the cave, and the most striking one is a "mermaid". This "mermaid" is a huge rock, which has been washed by the sea for a long time and formed the shape of a mermaid. The mermaid's tail is green. I don't know if it's the moss growing on it or the original color of the stone. It looks very realistic.
After visiting all the caves, we rowed back to the dock. At this time, the rain had stopped and the sun came out. But I think it's better when it rains, because it doesn't need to be sunburned and it's cool. When we were having lunch at the dock, we saw a large group of people rowing boats to see the cave. After a while, another dark cloud came and it began to rain in Mao Mao. As a result, within a few minutes, the downpour began, which was even more violent than what we had just rained. At that time, we thought that although we were wet, they might not be much better and gloat. Continue to enjoy the scenery by the river for a while. Don't look at the rapids on the river when it rains. As soon as the rain stopped, the river was as calm as a mirror.
This time, I visited the cave and rowed, which added another unforgettable experience to my seaside trip. Although I have seen Shihua Cave and many other famous caves before, this cave gives me a different feeling. The most different thing is that we need to cross it. There are murals left by people thousands of years ago. This makes me feel that this cave is different from others.
