Typhoon Lichima has killed 28 people and left 20 missing. Why is it so destructive?
As of 6: 30 on August 1 1, the super typhoon "Likima" has caused 28 deaths and 20 losses in Zhejiang Province. Among them, 22 people died in Yongjia County, lost contact 10, 3 people died in Lin 'an, 4 people lost contact, 3 people died in Yueqing, 3 people lost contact and 3 people lost contact in Linhai. At present, search and rescue work in various places is still in progress.
So why is it so destructive? Let's first study how typhoons are formed: typhoons originate from tropical oceans, where the temperature is very high, and a large amount of seawater evaporates into the air, forming a low-pressure center. With the change of air pressure and the movement of the earth itself, the inflow of air also rotates, forming a counterclockwise air vortex, which is a tropical cyclone. As long as the temperature does not drop, this tropical cyclone will get stronger and stronger, and finally a typhoon will form.
Although the forms of storms brought by typhoons and ordinary weather systems are not quite the same, I think there are similarities and similar causes. They are all driven by solar radiation and upward air movement. Whether it is a cold core or a warm core structure, there is water vapor first, and then the air rises. This continuous rise sucks up the air at the bottom and throws it all into the sky, which makes the clouds produce rain.
From this point of view, the typhoon's route is really not small, and it must be powerful.
