The water inlet pipe of a house with floor heating is hot in return pipe. Why is the ground cold?
The water supply and backwater of floor heating are both hot, indicating that there is no problem in the circulation of water supply and backwater of indoor floor heating. In other words, the hot water from the heating water circulates indoors and then returns to our backwater, indicating that the indoor heat dissipation is already very small. In this case, the indoor temperature should meet the normal requirements. There is also a qualified supply and return water temperature for heating. In other words, the hot water sent to our home by the heating company meets the requirements, because we find that the water supply and backwater of our floor heating are already hot.
The next step is that we can emit very little heat indoors. In other words, the floor heating has heated the materials around the floor heating pipe to a suitable temperature through the heating pipe, so the heat is almost no longer lost at this time, so our backwater must be hot. If the water inlet pipe of the greenhouse is hot and the ground is still cold in return pipe, I suggest you measure the indoor temperature. If the indoor temperature has reached above 20℃, it has already met the requirements and does not need to be solved. If our indoor temperature can't even reach 18℃, it means that there is a problem with floor heating and it needs to be solved.
The first reason is that the backfill materials and paving materials on our ground are too thick, which leads to the failure of normal heat dissipation. The second reason is that we spread heat insulation material on the upper floor of the floor heating pipe, which makes the heat unable to conduct upwards. If it is confirmed that the floor heating is not hot because of our pavement problems, then the only way at this time is to remove our floor heating paving materials and repave them. Because it is impossible to solve this problem in other ways, because there is no problem with the supply and return water temperature of floor heating.
If you know the design specification of floor heating or HVAC, it is generally required that the maximum thickness of the decorative layer on the floor with floor heating is 50 mm, including bonding materials and floors or tiles. The floor heating backfill layer is not allowed to lay any insulation layer, which usually happens on the wooden floor. Because many friends are worried about the moisture rising of the wooden floor, they add an insulation layer under the wooden floor, which is similar to the special reflective film for floor heating. As a result, the heat can't be emitted at all, and the floor must be cold.
Try not to choose floor decoration materials with poor thermal conductivity. The floor decoration materials with poor thermal conductivity are generally some composite materials or wood materials. Therefore, for the ground with floor heating, I always suggest that you just lay tiles, which is not only conducive to the heat dissipation of the ground, but also safe and environmentally friendly. Remember to maintain the floor heating in time during use, including cleaning after four or five years of use, cleaning the filter screen in the early stage of heating, exhaust and so on.
