Reasons for the formation of Mediterranean climate
In summer, the northward movement of the direct point of the sun leads to the northward movement of the subtropical high belt, which is controlled at 30-40 degrees, so the Mediterranean climate in summer is controlled by the dry subtropical high, and it flows downward, which is hot and dry.
Because it is controlled by the westerly belt, the east coast of the mainland is less affected by the westerly belt, so the east coast does not form a Mediterranean climate, and the east coast is alternately controlled by the winter and summer monsoon, and the difference in thermal properties between land and sea forms a monsoon climate. Low latitude is tropical monsoon, middle and low latitude is subtropical monsoon, and middle latitude is temperate monsoon.
The central area controlled by subtropical high is 30 degrees, the central area controlled by westerly belt is 40 degrees, and the natural Mediterranean climate is distributed at 30-40 degrees.
