Will Mercedes-Benz's four-wheel air suspension drop in cold weather?
Introduction of suspension system
Suspension system is the general name of all the force transmission connecting devices between the frame and the axle or wheel. Its function is to transmit the force and torque between the wheel and the frame, buffer the impact force transmitted to the frame or body by the uneven road surface, and attenuate the vibration caused thereby, so as to ensure the smooth running of the automobile.
In the independent suspension system we often see, the wheels on each side are suspended under the frame or the car body respectively through the elastic suspension system, while the air suspension is suspended with air springs as elastic elements, and the most obvious feature of the air suspension is the airbag air spring.
Compared with the traditional steel automobile suspension system, air suspension has many advantages, the most important point is the elastic coefficient of the spring, that is, the soft and hard performance of the spring can be automatically adjusted according to needs. A high-quality SUV should not only have the comfort of a car, but also take into account the passing performance of off-road vehicles. Air suspension system is the best choice to achieve this goal.
For example, when driving at high speed, the suspension can be hardened to improve the stability of the car body. When driving at a low speed for a long time, the control unit will think that it is passing through a bumpy road, and the suspension will soften, improving the shock absorption comfort.
