Guyuan God of Wealth Tower is located in the south of Guyuan County, Ningxia. Guyuan County is an important town on the northern route of the eastern section of the ancient Silk Road. It is a famous historical and cultural city. In the third year of Yuanding of the Han Dynasty (114 BC), Anding County was established and Gaoping City was governed (now Guyuan County). This was the historical city of Guyuan clearly recorded in history books. Because of its strong city and deep pond, it was called the first city of Gaoping in history.

It has been repaired many times since. In the first month of the fourth year of Tianhe (569) of the Northern Zhou Dynasty, Yuanzhou City (Guyuan City) was newly built. This is a new city after the space expansion and addition of the original Gaoping ancient city. The original Gaoping city became the inner city of the new city. From then on, Guyuan City had the layout of an inner city and an outer city.

Guyuan in the Ming Dynasty was one of the nine military towns set up by the Ming Dynasty government in the northwest border area. It was also the place where the governors of the three sides of Shaanxi were stationed. The city defense was greatly strengthened, making it the most glorious city in the history of Guyuan. During this period, Guyuan City also became an important town in the northwest. There is the Ancient City Wall Ruins Park in the southern suburbs.

As of 2020, Guyuan City has 14 tourist attractions, 6 4A-level tourist attractions, 6 3A-level tourist attractions, and 2 2A-level tourist attractions. There are 28 registered travel agencies and 33 registered tour guides in the city.

In the whole year, it received 5.423 million domestic tourists and 506 overseas tourists; the total revenue from domestic tourists was 2.576 billion yuan, and the per capita spending of domestic tourists was 475 yuan. Farmhouses received 1.1936 million tourists, with total revenue of 37 million yuan, and per capita spending on farmhouses was 31 yuan.
