Can I run at a temperature of over 30 degrees?
Many running events are held in extremely hot weather (above 35 degrees), such as 135 mile marathon Badwater in Death Valley, California, where the temperature can reach 50 degrees Celsius. In addition, there is the annual Sahara Desert Marathon, which runs through the Moroccan Sahara Desert for five days and the temperature is as high as 50 degrees Celsius. This 156 mile race is considered to be the most difficult running race on earth. Our experience in running training in the heating room of Kingston University proves that it is possible to run safely in high temperature under the premise of full preparation, hydration and awareness of the difficulty of running. However, it is worth noting that these events have undergone a lot of preparation and adaptation, and it is not recommended to run at this temperature without thorough training.
