How do mainlanders get a driver's license in Hong Kong?
There are three ways for mainlanders to get a driver's license in Hong Kong:
1 hong kong school of motoring
2 other driving schools (Li Jian, Konglong, etc. )
3 Private education
In fact, the three ways lead to the same goal, which is essentially a private school education. The driving school is an intermediary, and you don't know whether the teacher assigned to you is reliable. Driving school in Hong Kong is one-on-one hit because his family has a high pass rate and the corresponding tuition is the most expensive, but it is not the scope of online rumors. This family has its own special training ground (only in Kowloon, and those who take the exam on Hong Kong Island have no advantage in finding his home).
To sum up, it is enough to find a reliable personal education.
Examination category
Most people are a combination of the two.
1. automatic wave (automatic) private car
2. Manual variable speed truck
Because the truck driver's license can drive a private car, people who learn manual transmission will choose the truck directly. It is said that trucks are actually simpler than private cars.
Examination composition
Divided into three parts:
1 written test
Stop in both directions, turn around on the narrow road and start on the slope (Part B)
3 road test (part c)
Note that 2 and 3 are tested together, and 2 is followed by 3, which is called the joint test.
It can be seen that there are fewer exams than in the mainland, and there is no need for an examination room. Theoretically, you only need to take the exam twice.
20 questions in written test, 16 passed. Test traffic rules and common sense.
Part b and part c are tested at the same time, but they are independent of each other. Most people who failed the exam passed part B and part C.
See the map 1 for the examination room.
There is only one automatic wave private car examination room on Hong Kong Island and three in Kowloon.
The difficulty is said to be Happy Valley = Peizhengdao > the other two.
Examination registration and schedule
Download the forms from the Transport Department (Transport Department-Transport Department Form Application Form and Learned Driving Licence Application Form) and fill them out, then hand them over to the Transport Department for payment (Cheung Sha Wan or Admiralty). The written test time will be arranged immediately, about 1-2 months later.
Arrange the time for the road test immediately after passing the written test. Three months after the master plan of Hong Kong Island, it usually takes six months for Kowloon.
Learning the driving process
Note that you must have a learner's license before the master will let you drive.
You need to make an appointment with the host for an hour and a half at a time (it is best to find someone who uses whatsapp, so as not to call and say that it is not negotiable).
One-on-one teaching form: you sit in the driver's seat during the whole class, and the master guides you in the co-pilot or simply helps you turn the steering wheel by hand. The master's co-pilot has a pair of brakes, so step on the brakes in time before you do something that you will regret for a lifetime.
There are two kinds of courses, one is to practice berth turning, and the other is to go to the examination room to take exams repeatedly.
The Transport Department recommends completing 30 hours of study.
(One-on-one learning to drive makes many stories encountered because of learning to drive lose the breeding ground and lingering thoughts)
Examination process
U-turn side stop on narrow road-slope start-road test
See the map 1 for the route of each examination room.
The examiner will take notes on a piece of yellow paper while observing you (see Figure 2). If you make a serious mistake, you will be disqualified immediately. Slight norm three times = once serious.

Common reasons for jumping street rankings:
1. Change the line without turning.
Approaching an object
Turn the steering wheel quickly
Re-examination period
Candidates who retake the exam can grab the fastest time on a first-come-first-served basis at 7: 30 am on weekdays, without waiting for months.
See figure 3.
The transportation department is really considerate to the majority of re-examination students.
expense
Registration fee: 5 10
Learning driver's license: 540
Study fee (automatic private car): $ 140-$ 170/45 minutes (the master will ask for one and a half hours at a time).
Car rental fee: $800-$900 (you must drive a master's car on the day of the exam, which is usually used for driving practice).
It usually takes twenty hours to study.
To sum up, if you successfully pass an exam, the cost will be 5500-6000 yuan.
But! ! !
Once you need to retake the exam, then the registration fee+study fee (at least once or twice before the exam)+car rental fee (this is a big deal! ! ! ), every time you retake the exam, you will get more than 2000 yuan.
Most people took the exam twice on average. The reason will be spit out later.
skill
Written test: There is nothing to say. I want to share a simulation problem with you. Extension of portable document format file (abbreviation of portable document format)
If you are not satisfied, you can also come to this website to do simulation exercises to test the review effect:
Written and road test materials
Part B (stop on the slope, turn around, start): This seems difficult, but it's actually very simple. Just practice hard at ordinary times. There is a note in the master's car. Follow the instructions and walk slowly.
Road test: How many people have fallen in this part, because that's it! Look! Lucky! Gas! Yes! How to deal with traffic jams; An old woman pushing a garbage truck rushed out in front; The car next to it suddenly opened the door; Someone ran a red light; There are countless emergencies; It's raining heavily, and it's not as bad as black rain, so the road surface is slippery and difficult to control; The traffic is extremely busy during working hours; The roadside was full of cars, and the owner went to eat; When I met a mean examiner, I felt that my head wanted to turn 180 degrees when I switched lines. He still says you haven't changed. Deliberately give the wrong instructions and turn left at the second intersection, which clearly shows that the intersection is a one-way street; Say it out loud and you can start. In fact, there is another car with lights on in front of you. You shouldn't even start now. I have heard many wonderful reasons for jumping off the street, and I have also heard many negative energy and kindness. The high probability is that most people have to take the exam twice to overcome all kinds of bad luck.
I have a boss who says it's not difficult to drive, but it's hard for you to show the examiner that you can drive! !
If the weather is good, the roads are good, the roads are smooth, the examiner is kind, and it is windy and drizzling, then congratulations! ! ! !
I suggest you try your best to take the exam during off-peak hours in the morning. Happy Valley and Peizheng Road are more difficult. There are often traffic jams in these two places.
Change the license plate
After the first year of the exam, you can only get a temporary driver's license (P card). It will take a year to change your official driver's license. You can only change your mainland driver's license if you get a formal driver's license.
You can also exchange your official driver's license for an international driver's license.
Note that mainland drivers' licenses can be directly exchanged for Hong Kong drivers' licenses, but Hong Kong drivers' licenses obtained in this way cannot be exchanged for international drivers' licenses.
Small gossip
If you study driving in Hong Kong, you will find that all driving school teachers are very old, and sixty or seventy years old is a common occurrence. The reason is that the Transport Department has not issued a new coach license for many years.
I used to think that the income of driving school was very high, and the cost of private education was directly credited to their bank card. Theoretically, the tax bureau can't find their income, so there is no need to pay taxes. I was angry about it for a while. Later, I calculated an account, deducting costs (gas, parking fees, insurance, tunnel fees, etc. ) and the gap period. In fact, their income is not much after the tax line.
Their most profitable part is to rent a car for candidates to take exams. It only takes 10 to 15 minutes to take the exam once, but you can charge 8900 yuan, which is a very high hourly salary. Therefore, Fu Hui, a private tutor, requires students to rent their own cars on the day of the exam, otherwise the tuition will rise to $250 /45 minutes.
